The City History Museum comprises of four venues including the Monumental Ensemble of the Plaça del Rei, the Museum-Monastery of Pedralbes, the Verdaguer Museum-House, and the Centre for Interpretation in Parc Güell. The two most visited sites of the museum are the Monumental Ensemble and the Monastery of Pedralbes. Situated in the old "Count's Palace", Monumental Ensemble houses an extensive collection of archaeological objects and remains from the Roman period along with modern exhibits like the bomb that partly destroyed the Liceu Theatre in 1893. Monstery of Pedralbes is a monastery building that houses a wide array of artifacts & paintings associated with the monastery and the nuns, who had resided in that monastery over the centuries.
The City History Museum also features exhibits comprising of archeological excavations that highlight the genesis of Barcelona.
