The Sonar Festival, Barcelona takes place in the month of June each year. This festival highlights electronica music spreading over three days with two main events on each day. This electronica music festival is divided in Sonar by day and Sonar by night. The former is held just off Les Rambles while the latter is held in a complex outside the main city.

This festival showcases uninterrupted, continuous and simultaneous concerts featuring big names in the electronica genre. There are other forms of ‘advanced music’ of the likes of house and techno. There are shows put up by international DJs, there are performances and multimedia projects spanning over several days in mid June.

Sonar by night wears an excellent cosmopolitan ambience and has three locations occupied by revered names in the electronic music genre, both from the national and international circuit. There are concerts each night featuring DJs and VDJs and there are concerts of huge proportion happening simultaneously in 4 areas. Sonar by night occupies a humongous area of more than 10,000 meters and is divided between covered and open air spaces.
