The Royal Mint Museum in Madrid, also called the Museum of Coinage and Postage was originally set up to give training to novice engravers in the 18th century. At the Royal Mint Museum in Madrid, you can view a wide collection of coins, engravings, drawings, medals and even books all dating from the 18th century.

This fascinating collection was originally started by Francisco Prieto, who was the General Engraver of the Royal Mint of Carlos III . He intended it to be traning material for students from the Mint Engraving School. This collection was extended over years resulting in the enormous amount of material that's preserved at Madrid's Royal Mint Museum today.
