Parque del Buen Retiro, Madrid

This popular park in Madrid was named by the king. Its name in English means "Park of the Pleasant Retreat". It was originally the site of a royal palace which got destroyed and the park was built in its place.The park is also the venue for the annual Book Fair.

This park has various attractions you can enjoy. Take boat rides on the beautiful artificial lake called Estanque del Retiro, view the Mausoleum of Alfonso XII as well as the grand glass pavilion called Palacio de Cristal. Kids and adults alike will love the puppet shows and varieties of street performers in this park.


Sabatini Gardens, Madrid

These gardens were built in 1933 to honor the noted 18th century Italian architect Francesco Sabatini. The gardens are a part of the Royal Palace of Madrid, and feature a beautiful design which is just perfect as a summer retreat.

It is really pleasant to stroll amongst the beautiful statues and fountains in these gardens on a quiet afternoon.The bushes and trees arranged in a pleasing geometric shape will also delight you.


Royal Botanical Gardens, Madrid

This botanical garden is near the Prado Museum in Madrid and it was designed by several famous architcts.

The Royal Botanical Garden was declared an Artistic Garden in 1942. The botanical garden also aims to teach botanics and promote research into new plant species. Thr gardens are divided into three areas and two greenhouses where you can enjoy the beautiful exhibitions of plants.
