Cheng Ching Lake Taiwan

Located in Kaohsiung County’s Niaosong Township, Cheng Ching is larger than all other lakes in the Kaohsiung area. Cheng Ching Lake was originally built to serve as a water reservoir for industrial use. Gradually realizing its potential as a tourist spot, authorities developed it as a beautiful lake.

Cheng Ching Lake was opened to the public in 1960.

Cheng Ching Lake’s surface covers an area of over 300 hectares. For its peaceful ambience Cheng Ching Lake is also called the ‘West Lake of Taiwan’. The most famous attraction offered by the lake if Bridge of Nine Turns , which was built in 1960 and true to its name the bridge, running 230 mt long with a width of 2.5 mt, has nine turns.   -  Thousand Tree Woodland,
  -  Chungling Pagoda,
  -  Three Pavilions
  -  Moon-gazing Building

Also located is a Youth Activity Center which has a training field, shooting gallery, youth hostel and a swimming pool.

Lying near the lake is the18-hole Kaohsiung Golf and Country Club. Also open to the public is President Chiang’s Administration Building, which has a library that contains many historical documents. One of the documents includes the declaration of surrender by Japan after a prolonged conflict of eight years.
