The Blue Note Bar, Taipei, Taiwan is owned by Cai Ba, whose love for music, especially jazz, propelled him to launch a bar which has a ‘jazzy feel’ about it. The Blue Note bar is mainly frequented by music lover, old and young, who dip their favorite songs in a glassful of wine and chew on it the rest of the evening.

The Blue Note Bar does not boast of a spacious floor and it has eclectic posters of musicians adorning the walls.

The Blue Note Bar features regular jazz performances all through the week barring Monday and Sunday from 9.30 pm onwards. Some of the regular bands include the Uno Quartet, the New Decision Quartet and the Metamorphosis Jazz Band.

The obsession with jazz spills over the menu as well which features cocktails that take names from popular jazz numbers like John Coltrane's "Blue Train", which in fact is a concoction of Blue Curacao and lime juice; there is another one named “Let's Fall in Love”, which is made of lychee liqueur and orange juice.

So strongly is Blue Note Bar dedicated towards music that it willing allows fledglings to perform. Blue Note Bar’s contribution towards developing jazz culture in Taiwan has been redoubtable.
