Dusit Zoo

Dusit Zoo in Bangkok is a zoo which is looked after by the Zoological Park Authority of Bangkok. Earlier this zoo was the part of the royal Dusit Garden Palace. In 1938 it was constructed by King Rama V as his personal botanical garden. During the reign of King Rama VIII the government authority sought the permission of the king to make the Dusit Garden a zoo and open it for the public. The King granted the appeal. In 1954 the Dusit Royal Palace Garden changed to the Dusit Zoo and it was gone under the Zoological Park Authority of Bangkok.

The zoo acquires almost 47.5 acres of land. Among which 35.2 acres land is dry area and 12 acres of land is a water part. The zoo comprises of 288 kinds of mammals, 1018 species of birds and 292 verities of reptiles. In the zoo one can find the biggest collection of Gibbon species. Other than this there are deer and Bird Island. There is Indian mammal like Elephant. Different species stay in different groups. There is a scope for boat ride in the Dusit Zoo, Bangkok and one can find ample eating places inside the zoo. The zoo is situated at the Rama V road in Thailand.
