World Trade Center, Bangkok as it was earlier known is an eight-story mall opened in 1990. In 2006, after three years of refurbishments, this mall was extended to an area of 550,000-square-meter. However, the name World Trade Center was changed to Central World Plaza. But in 2005 it was again rechristened to CentralWorld.
World Trade Center, Bangkok or say CentralWorld is now the largest shopping center in Southeast Asia and larger than Hong Kong's Ocean Terminal.
World Trade Center, Bangkok as it was previously called, is located in Pathum Wan district at the Ratchaprasong Intersection. In the nearby region other famous shopping centers, markets and stores abound which include Gaysorn shopping center, Big C Ratchadamri, Amarin Plaza, Siam Paragon, Siam Center, MBK Center, Platinum Fashion Mall and Pantip Plaza.
CentralWorld or World Trade Center, Bangkok offers numerous facilities. It has various anchors, retail shops, movie theatres, leisure activities and hotels. There are over 300 retail shops in CentralWorld. Among these a King Power Duty Free shop is very famous. It has a 24-lane bowling alley on the eighth floor which provides best recreational opportunity to take advantage of.
Central World can be accessed from Gaysorn or Big C Ratchadamri via pedestrian overpasses. There are other ways also to reach this place.
