◊ Chinese New Year
The Chinese New Year comes in the month of February. The new year celebrations include boisterous and colorful dragon parades, Chinese traditional music and dance and of course, delicious Chinese food.

◊ Thao Thep Krasatri- Thao Sri Suntorn Festival
The Thao Thep Krasatri- Thao Sri Suntorn Festival is celebrated every year on the13th of March in memory of the two ladies who led the defense of the island against the Burmese in 1785.

◊ Songkran Festival
The Songkran festival celebrates the advent of the Thai New Year. This festival is held from April 13 -15 every year.

◊ Turtle Releasing Festival
The turtle releasing festival is a part of the Thai New Year celebrations. This festival has been christened National Fisheries Day by the Government of Thailand. The festivities include releasing of turtles into the sea at beaches in the north of the island.
