Thailand Provinces
The country of Thailand consists of 75 provinces, which are again arranged into 6 major groups. They are namely North, Northeast, Central, East, West and South. Bangkok, though a special administrative area is often included as the 76th province.All the Thailand provinces have their individual Governors who are appointed by the Ministry of the Interior. The provinces are divided into 795 districts called "amphoe" and these are further subdivided into communes or "tambon" and villages or "muban".

The biggest among Thailand's provinces, by area, among these is Nakhon Ratchasima and the smallest is Samut Songkhram.
Among the Thailand provinces Bangkok has the highest number of population as well as the highest population density while the provinces with lowest population and the lowest population density are Ranong and Mae Hong Son respectively.
The newest Thailand provinces are Sa Kaeo, Nongbua Lamphu and Amnat Charoen. Bangkok has been formed by the merging of two provinces namely, Phra Nakhon and Thonburi.
