Quai Ho Chi Minh City
Ho Chi Minh City (previously known as Saigon) is the financial hub of Vietnam. Located in the Mekong Delta the Pearl of the Orient is home to almost 7 million people. Ho Chi Ming City is not only the economic capital of Vietnam but also centre of art, culture and religion. Ho Chi Minh City’s striking examples of colonial architecture and exquisitely carved and paneled traditional pagodas is what it is known for.
Though Ho Chi Minh City is better known for its impressive historical and war museums and its numerous pagodas the city has a fun seaside area called Quai or quay. A lot of tourists often by pass this area in search of the more exotic or something that is more characteristically eastern. Our advice: Don’t miss out! The Quai area in Ho Chi Minh City is a place you should definitely visit!
Come here to enjoy the smell of the sea and watch the huge vessels that dock here. Stroll around at night when the street vendors come out in hoards and sell lip smacking (although probably not very hygienic!) street food.
Delicacies like grilled squid, various barbecues, sweets, tart fruits are very popular. Our advice: dip the snack into spicy salt to add zing to the taste. If street food is not your cuppa there are a lot of floating restaurants, such as Saigon Floating Restaurant or the Saigon Tourist Cruise are also worth a visit.
This seaside area is full of activities and attractions, from floating restaurants to performers and fruit vendors. Do drop by!
