The main airport for Istanbul is the Ataturk International Airport, which is located about 16 miles west of the city, on the European side of Istanbul.

We have listed a few options below for you to get from the airport to your hotel.

While at the airport it is a good idea to pick up some Turkish New Liras from one of the ATMs located in the Arrivals Terminal.

It is also a good idea to learn what the exchange rate is ahead of time so that you will know how much you are paying, for example, for transportation .

Taxi ~ When you step outside the airport you'll see a line of yellow taxis.

Go to the front of the line and a man will direct you into one of the taxis (if he helps you with your bag you should tip him).

Your ride to the hotel should cost around 35-45YTL (about $25-30, the rate will be 50% higher if you need one between 24:00 and 6:00).

This price is per trip, not per person (a taxi can usually take up to 4 people).

You will need to pay in Turkish Lira so be sure to have some on hand.

The ride will take about 30-60 minutes, depending on traffic .

Note that as you're leaving the airport you'll see a road sign that reads "Istanbul".

Don't be alarmed when the driver takes a different road.

He is going the right way.

As he nears the hotel, your driver might stop and ask someone for directions.

This is also not unusual.

Agora Life Hotel Shuttle You can reserve with the hotel ahead of time to have a car waiting for you at the airport when you arrive.

The cost is about 50-60 YTL ($35-40), and this is for up to 3 people.

You will need to pay for the car when you reach the hotel.To request the car, email them at defne@agoralifehotel.com , or fax them your request along with your Istanbul flight arrival details and be sure to ask for a confirmation from them.

Then, as you leave the Arrivals Terminal secure customs area you'll see someone in the crowd outside the doors holding a sign with your name, or the hotel's name (you might have to look around because it can be quite crowded).
