Biggest Mistake Ever!

Internet Was High Priced for Very Slow Bandwidth, it was slower then dial-up. No Wired Connections only wi-fi, and it kept disconnecting. No Pool at Facility. Bed was the hardest bed I have ever slept on in Dubai I think the road or the rocks outside would have been softer. House Keeping always kept forgetting something whether it was toilet paper, clean towels, face towel, they picked up the dirty ones but never replaced them so you had to be in the room to tell them. If you need assistance on the phone such as bell desk, housekeeping, or front desk they don't pick up their phones for atleast 10 minutes which then takes you from calm mood to disgruntled mood. If your looking for a cheap hotel with no service then this is the place. If your looking for more be prepared to get upset. This Hotel is All Looks and No Action.

Distant from Everything

The rooms are clean but for a total of 9 days out of 14, the staff kept forgetting to leave towels. Had to contact front desk almost everyday and wait. The safe did not work on two occasions and had to wait to retreive some valuables. (they kept putting in used batteries). The hotel is 15 minutes walk to IBN Battuta mall and 20 minutes to the metro. Unless you wish to walk back and forth, you need a car or many taxis. There are no quality restaurants nearby except at the IBN Battuta Gate hotel, where we went and ate every night (15-20 minutes walk ). There, we got excellent food and wine (not available at the Grand hotel).
There is no pool at the Grand hotel, so we had to take metro to go to sea. Again, there was nothing around this hotel except apartments and industrial facilities. In summary, rooms were ok but if you wish any of the above (shopping, sea, good food and close to the sea, then get something closer to Jemeirah Beach or Dubai Marina.). If you do not mind walking 20 minutes each way to metro, then the hotel is a good price.
