Everything about it was good despite the fact that Internet was not available in room.
Free internet could be used at the lobby which I think is not convinient if you need internet services in your room.
Please note that there are two Winchester apartments in Bur Dubai, one is Winchester while the other is Winchester deluxe so make sure you dont go to the wrong one!
Rooms are nice and clean, Its worth it go for it :)

Nights in Dubai
Visited Dubai to use up a chunk of expiring air miles. I've been through the airport numerous times but had never left the terminal before. Very tourist friendly country, from the taxi driver at the airport who took us out to the apartment through to the Winchester's own bus back.
The room had everything needed for a short stay, air conditioning and a good fridge / freezer, we never used the hob but there were ample saucepans etc. if we had wanted to. Tea, coffee, salt, pepper and bottled water were all in the room upon arrival. Room service was good as was the house-keeping.
To round off there was a great pool on the roof, just right for the middle of the day and although the apartments were not in the most salubrious part of the city, Mankool, they are close to the Metro and pretty central for just about everything by very reasonable priced taxi ride.
I would certainly recommend the Winchester to anybody looking for a comfortable bed and good service at a very fair price. Then do what we did, spend the saving on a meal in atmosphere on the 122nd floor of the Burj Khalifa and enjoy the best view in town.

It was a very nice place to stay, spacious and clean. However some of the appliances provided in the kitchen do not work well.e.g the oven in the kitchen. Dnt forget to bring along your detergents to wash your clothes and utensils.
My review
It was a great experience to stay at Winchester Grand Deluxe apartments in Bur Dubai. The quality of room, its service and staff was really good and above all the location is very central and close to many good spots in Dubai such as shoping malls, metro station, super markets and also very easy to find taxi right from the gate of the apartment. Further, the apartment's free bus service at specified times to many attractive locations is also very good. I overall found the apartment a very perfect place to stay especially in terms of quality and the price.
Friendly but stinks
The staff is friendly and helpful but the rooms are poor quality. It is loud and smells bad which makes staying in the room quite uncomfortable. We tried to stay as much outside the room as possible but sometimes you have to sleep.
We were over charged...
We recently stayed at the Winchester Hotel Apartments in Dubai. After receiving our quote from Asia Rooms in the sum of 675 AER, I was very disappointed to be charged a sum of 850 AER upon arrival at the hotel (not to mention the fact that we were exhausted after our 26 hour journey from New Zealand) The manager of the hotel tried to persuade us that this increase in cost was due to the fact that our Asia rooms quote did not include local taxes of 20% extra. However I think we all know that when you receive a written quote for a hotel showing a total amount to pay for a room, then that should be the total amount of money that you have to pay. Unfortunately I would have to conclude that Asia Rooms are ultimately responsible for the extra money that we had to pay for our room, due to the fact that it was Asia Rooms that provided us with our written quote. Please advise us on the likelihood of Asia Rooms providing us with a refund for the extra costs that we incurred for this hotel.

Friendly and Spacious
Very good value for money and helpful, friendly staff. No qualms about recommending this hotel to the value conscious traveller. Make a note of the hotel's address for cab drivers though as the Winchester is not as well-known as some hotels plus there are two of them close together which can cause confusion. Otherwise happy to recommend.
good location in dubai
We booked 5 nights in a studio in Winchester Grand deluxe hotel in Dubai with free dinner. Our studio was big enough, and very clean with a little kitchenette, more for preparing a breakfast or a little snack.We had a litlle sitting area and a little table with 2 chairs for eating. The bathroom was of a good size, with plenty of hot water and everything in the room was working. We had a terrace too with 2 chairs, but no table what should be usefull for eating or drinking something outside. Our room looked like it had been renovated. There are big building works going on right in front of the hotel, but we were not disturbed by them considering the noise, when we were inside the room. Of course, when sitting on the terrace, the view was...on this buildingsite, thus not so lovely.The dinnerbuffets consists of good soup, some fresh salads that were always good, rice and a sort of potatos or spagetti, and 5 to 6 hot dishes,like fish, veal, chicken, hot vegetables... , some dishes are too spicy for western taste, but there were always dishes that were excellent. The choice in desserts is very limitted, but there was always an excellent fresh fruitsalad and 1 sweet dessert. Water is included. The hotels offer a lot of complimentary things, like free newspapers, free shuttle to some touristplaces, free coffee and tea...and the swimmingpool at the roof is a good place to relax. The hotel is in a good location, not too far from metrostation and busstations and on walking distance from Bur Dubai and Deira. The use of a hotelcomputer for internet in the lobby is too expensive. Why is this not free like in most hotels around the world? The people working at the hotel are friendly and correct and helpfull, especially the young man who did the housekeeping and took care for our room and laundry. It was a pity that there was a discussion between some people working in the restaurant and someone who looked like beeing a chief.Keep the internal problems away from the guests!
winchester de luxe in stead of winchester grand deluxe
We booked 3 nights in Winchester Grand deluxe hotel in Dubai, but when we arrived at about 4 am, we were told that the hotel was overbooked and so they called a taxi to bring us to the sisterhotel Winchester De luxe where we were given a 2-bedroom appartment in stead of a standard studio. So the comments given here are for that sisterhotel. We booked an arrangement with free dinner and we had to go to the Winchester Granddeluxe for our dinners. Both hotels are 5 minuts walking from each other. Our appartment was very big, perhaps too big for 2 persons, but very beautifull and clean. We had a nice big income, big livingroom, a big kitchen, 2 big bedrooms and 2 fully equipped bathrooms, a separate toilet and a terrace with view at the Burj Khalifa. Because our arrival was too late for the first dinner, we were given a free breakfast the first morning. Breakfastbuffet is nothing special, just OK. But we loved the dinnerbuffets, some dishes are too spicy for western taste, but there were always dishes that were excellent. The hotels offer a lot of complimentary things, like free newspapers, free shuttle to some touristplaces, free coffee and tea...and the swimmingpool at the roof is a good place to relax.
