Regent Palace Hotel
Pleasant, fairly modern hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful. Great location very near Metro and large modern shopping centre across the road with restaurants and kids play facilities.15 minutes from the airport.
Very disappointed though by ancient, rickety old baby cot with no mattress, apparently the hotel only has 2 cots and this was a spare that had to be found at last minute (despite requesting a cot when booking several weeks before). Also room was noisy as on the first floor right above the bar which went until 2am.
Overall not too bad and we'd probably give it another go as it's been the best in Dubai we've visited.

4 Star hotel with - 1 star standard
It’s a 4 star hotel with -1 star standard. we wanted to check out in the morning but they had already charged my credit card and refused to refund. The Hotel Director Mr. Shetty was never available.
We made this booking 9 days in advance requesting for late arrival, 2 nonsmoking adjoining rooms on higher floors. At 2.30 in the morning rooms were not ready. Than it was 1 room on 1st floor and other on 5th. Or we have to wait 20 minutes which stretched to 4.10AM. Rooms were far away from each other. Rooms were stinking of stale Tabaco. Sorry we don’t have any other rooms available. Use Air freshener if that helps. At 9.15 Breakfast room had no fresh plates so you wait again. Waiters were shouting around like in Fish Market. At 10 AM Buffet will be removed. Everyday same substandard breakfast, except the sauces. Rooms are ok size but dirty carpets, stains on linen and smelling pillows. Worn out towels. Curtains wont close and AC was noisy. No cold water in the bathrooms, One can see itsfull of black fungus in the corners. Housekeeping service comes only when they have time.
In the hotel there is Bollywood bar. Indian Girls are dancing and waiters try to hook guests as pimps. We were offered 4000 Dirhams for a night with one dancer. To our surprise we got a lot higher bill than we actually consumed. The bar manager was first rude but saw that we are not drunk so 2 drinks were reduced. Even our final bill was over charged and than corrected. Hotel guests have to pay entry to the disco in the Hotel. There is a valet service but one has to wait at least 20 minutes before you see your car. Sorry Nothing to recommend.
