An elegant Georgian Country House Hotel standing on the former site of a 13th century convent on the banks of the River Nent, which nestles in the foothills of Alston Moor on the Pennine Way between the Lakes and Newcastle. Situated 2½ miles from Alston in Cumbria the location makes it an ideal centre from which to visit the Lake District, Hadrian's Wall, the North Pennines, Durham Cathedral and the Yorkshire Dales.

The bedrooms are individually styled and furnished in keeping with the ambiance of the hotel, offering traditional design along with a full range of modern amenities all guests would expect from a hotel of this caliber. Bedrooms are equipped with full en-suite facilities, widescreen televisions, DVD players and a luxurious range of furnishings.
