Hotel Description

The George is a family run friendly pub offering excellent dining and comfortable affordable accommodation in the heart of Dorsets famous Jurassic Coast. We have just been newly refurbished for 2011 in our ground floor trading areas, and while our bedrooms are not due to be refurbished until early 2012 they have all had a new coat of paint and offer good value for money in a fantastic location. The George occupies a prominent position within the harbour, allowing guests great access to the fantastic facilites in and around Westbay. For the more energetic visitor our Jurassic coastline offers some fantastic walks, not to mention the numerous wreck diving sites within easy reach. Fishing trips are also available from right outside our front door. There is also a cliff top golf course just a few hundred yards from us. A few footsteps down the road you will find an indoor swimming pool, and throughout the summer holidays a funfair is resident just behind The George so there is plenty to keep the children amused. The Historic Market Town of bridport lies just 1 mile away from Westbay, and the street market is open every Wednesday & Saturday. Please note that for the security of all our guests that the building will be locked and alarmed with no entry from midnight. read more
