A great base for exploring Edinburgh (6 miles) and the midlothian area.Just opend a great budget option with a few extra touches to make your stay more relaxed,good transport links to central scotland the borders and edinburgh around 20 min by bus/car. A good selection of restaurants within a short walk including a wetherspoons The Blacksmiths Forge and a smith and jones place The buccleuch good for a reasonabley priced meal and drink also The cavaliere (italian),Itihaas (bangladeshi & indian) and New Blossom Garden (chinese).Take away options include Indian,Chinese,Pizza and Fish and chips! we also have a dining room and fully equiped kitchen for our guests use,and there is a 24 hour supermarket a 5 min drive from the house.There are lovely country parks around dalkeith including Vogrie and Dalkeith country park both have cafes which are open part of the year and we are a short drive from the east lothian coast with its interesting beaches and villages.
We are also a short drive from the malt whiskey distillery Glenkinchie.
