Hotel Description

Set on the west coast of the Isle of Wight, overlooking the white cliffs that tumble down into the English Channel, this comfortable country house, designated non-smoking, is within yards of some of the finest walking on the island. Some of the 36 en-suite bedrooms have sea views while others overlook the gardens and downs (Tennyson Down). The bedrooms are equipped with a hairdryer, clock radio and complimentary tea and coffee making facilities. Televisions and telephones are not provided in the bedrooms. Guests can relax in the three lounges and bar or in the outdoor heated swimming pool, open from May to September inclusive. In the grounds there is a children’s playground, while adults can enjoy putting, croquet, badminton and tennis. Steps from the gardens lead directly down to the beach.
Meals are served in an informal, friendly atmosphere at tables for up to eight guests. A three-course dinner is served at 7 to 7.30pm for a charge of 18 GBP per person. If you would like to dine at the country house please contact the house before 6pm to make your dinner reservation. A choice of full English or continental breakfast is offered. To allow you to make the most of your touring or walking holiday, a self-select picnic lunch can be provided for the small charge of 10 GBP per person.
Free car parking is available. Please notify the country house in advance if you intend to arrive after 10.30pm. Bedrooms are available from 2.30pm on the day of arrival and should be vacated by 10.00am on the day of departure.
An excellent base for those on an activity or walking holiday, other nearby attractions include Osbourne House, the Dinosaur farm museum, The Needles and Ventnor Botanical Garden. Travel to the Isle of Wight from the UK mainland by ferry or hovercraft.
