Forest Side is set within 42 acres of beautifully landscaped, wooded gardens. These gardens provide a stunning and fruitful home to deer, Herdwick sheep and lambs, red squirrels, a badger sett and of course rabbits! A menagerie now you can be a part of! Inside you will be greeted by a warm friendly smile and in cooler weather, a roaring log fire (of which there are four) which are regularly lit. A guest of the long-standing house of Forest Side has the choice of three large lounges to relax, unwind and enjoy a drink in, with the company of friends new and old. Our comfortable bar lounge with views of the surrounding fells is the ideal location to relax. Sweep up our grand staircase to find a range of rooms from singles to twins to four posters. Alternatively, a short walk back down the drive brings you to Grasmere Lodge, where our self catering accommodation and some standard hotel rooms are to be found. For cancellations made 0-14 days before arrival or by failing to take up the booking 100% is payable,15 - 29 days 75% of the total cost, 30-44 days 50% of the costs.
