Chestnut Villa is a former coaching inn now offering comfortable en-suite bed and breakfast in Grasmere, in the heart of the English Lake District. Each of our individually decorated rooms offers a fabulous view of the surrounding fells making this an ideal base from which to explore one of the world's great natural beauty spots. All food is freshly prepared on the premises and is locally sourced from local farms and suppliers wherever possible. Packed lunches are also available for your days out. We happily cater for special diets with a little prior notice to allow us to source the necessary ingredients.Now under new ownership for eighteen months, we continue to work with energy and enthusiasm to make your stay as enjoyable as possible and we are proud of the excellent feedback gained both online and in our guest book. Chestnut Villa is located on the edge of the picturesque village of Grasmere and there are a variety of pubs and restaurants serving good food to be found within five minutes walk. We want you to get the very best out of your stay and will advise on what to do and where to go if ever we can. The Lake District has long been, and continues to be, one of the UK's most popular tourist draws. Whether you are a keen photographer, walker, literary enthusiast or are simply seeking a relaxing break away from it all, you can be assured of a warm welcome and comfortable stay at Chestnut Villa. Chestnut Villa has a choice of eight individually decorated guest rooms all of which are en-suite with either shower or bath (with hand shower). Doubles, a twin and a family (1 x double, 1 x single beds) room are available. The rooms are complete with tea and coffee making facilities, new LCD TV’s (some with integrated DVD players), hair dryers and toiletries. Guests are welcome to relax in the large lounge area where you can rest and enjoy the views of the surrounding fells. Low season and single occupancy rates are available. Please call to enquire.
Grasmere makes for a fantastic base from which to enjoy many walks and our guests come from all over to enjoy them. We will happily advise on walks of all levels.

You can check in from 14:00 to 19:00. You need to check out by 10:30.
We now take credit/debit cards but ask £2.50 to cover the terminal costs. Although credit cards are required for Lateroom reservations, no payment is taken - you will be asked to pay in full on departure. There will be no cancellation charge if a booking is cancelled before 10:00 BST two days before your date of arrival. If the booking is cancelled later, or in the case of a no-show, the first night will be charged and subsequent nights will be charged if they cannot be re-let.
