The quintessential country pub, and just 5 miles from Taunton and 18 miles from Lyme Regis and Jurrasic Coast, the Square and Compass, has stood at Windmill Hill for over 200 years.

Carefully run by the owners Chris and Janet and their large team of staff, they have a reputation for very good home cooked food and local ales served in a warm and friendly atmosphere and are proud to have been featured in the The Good Pub Guide for 13 years and have recently been awarded 4 stars by the AA.

The Square and Compass Inn now offers eight architect designed very high quality rooms built in the style of a stable block. Each room features either extra-wide double bed or large twin singles, en suite facilities including bath and separate power shower, flat screen freeview TV , tea and coffee making facilities, toiletries and hairdryer. All rooms are ground floor rooms, with full disabled facilities available.

The Square and Compass also has a wedding licence and facilities allowing it to cater for weddings, parties, live music & meetings.

Whether its a room for 2 or a wedding for 200 in the large separate Barn Venue, the Square and Compass specialises in very good food with very little formality and have found this to be a winning formula. read more
