It is our experience that our locals enjoy meeting our guests and we know too that many guests appreciate the vitality of our bar. But there is space for those who prefer more tranquility.

It was at The Wheatsheaf in 1941 that James Herriot and his wife Helen spent their honeymoon. In his book he describes how much they enjoyed the warm hospitality and excellent food.

Today it is still a family owned hotel with proprietors Paul and Carol Mitchell offering the best of local cuisine and comfort.

We are ideally located mid Wensleydale IN the Yorkshire Dales National Park ON the circular Aysgarth Falls Bolton Castle walk. With 12 rooms in total the Wheatsheaf is a perfect venue for walking and reunion or family groups.
