Welcome to The Old Rectory Hotel, the Grade II listed Georgian home of Chris, Sally & James Entwistle and their Birman cats Rolo and Milli, and Norwich's only AA Red Star hotel and Green Tourism Business Scheme 'Silver' Award winner.

Enjoy the luxury, charm and character of this delightful Georgian Country House style property overlooking the river Yare valley on the eastern outskirts of Norwich. Standing in an acre of mature secluded gardens in a leafy conservation area, we offer you warm hospitality and award winning service in a relaxing and friendly atmosphere. The main house dates back to 1754, whilst the adjacent Victorian Coach House was built just under a century later. Since coming to The Old Rectory in 1995, it has been tastefully and extensively refurbished creating, we hope, a warm and homely feel. A welcoming log fire awaits you after a days sightseeing or shopping in the winter months, whilst in the summer you can enjoy a leisurely drink or afternoon tea on the pool terrace, or perhaps even take a dip in our outdoor pool.

The Old Rectory Hotel is conveniently located just a few minutes by bus, car or taxi from Norwich city centre and railway station and Norwich International Airport is about 5 miles away. The Norfolk Broads National Park is a short drive and there are many interesting places to visit within easy reach including historic buildings, nature reserves, parks and gardens as well as walking and cycling trails. For cyclists we have plenty of secure storage and facilities for maintenance.

Dinner is served in our elegant candlelit Dining Room Monday to Saturday and you can choose from our daily changing, seasonal prix-fixe dinner menu freshly cooked to order by Chef James Perry who has two AA rosettes for his food. All of our fresh produce is sourced from local suppliers and in the summertime, some of our vegetables, salad leaves and herbs come from our own garden. James is pleased to prepare vegetarian dishes and to cater for other particular dietary needs although we do appreciate advance notice of such requirements.

Our tasty English breakfast is served each morning in the Dining Room with locally produced bacon, sausages and ham from Barnard's of Attleborough, free range eggs, thick yoghurt with our own home made toppings as well as a choice of cereals, fresh fruit, toast with Norfolk preserves and Fairtrade tea and coffee. In summer, you can enjoy breakfast outside under the gazebo overlooking the swimming pool.

The hotel has eight beautifully appointed non-smoking, en-suite guest rooms, all of which are individually styled and furnished to a high standard providing every comfort to the discerning traveller. All rooms have comfy beds with fine cotton bedlinen, widescreen digital TV, wireless broadband, CD/radio alarm, hairdryer, complimentary mineral water, Neutrogena toiletries and a hospitality basket with Clipper Organic and Fairtrade tea and coffee. Rooms in the main house have Georgian proportions, some still with fireplaces, whilst those in the Old Coach House have sloping beams and their own entrance leading straight to the pool terrace and gardens. Most of the rooms have a sunny, south facing aspect with views over the garden and the Yare valley beyond.
