Cross Hands Hotel, Old Sodbury

Hotel Description

Just minutes from the M4 junction 18, the Cross Hands Hotel is a charming old posting house dating from the 14th century and is popular nowadays with, among others, country lovers, horse racing fans, motor racers, golfers and young couples; and our own dear Queen sought shelter here during a blizzard in 1981.

Those who like a bit of spooky history might like to know that the cellars were once used to house convicted criminals, sentenced to death by 'Bloody' Judge Jeffreys.

The Cross Hands restaurant is relaxed, spacious and situated on two levels, offering a warm atmosphere. Our guests are able to dine from our adventurous and interesting menu. Our chefs prepare food of the highest quality, from a modern well equipped kitchen. Our food has achieved an excellent reputation amongst local and international diners.

The oak beamed Beaufort Bar, full of charm and character, is ideal for sampling one of the range of traditional ales and delicious bar food. The open working fire place adds comfort on those winter days and evenings.

The Cross Hands can now offer free WiFi.
