Although the Prestwick Old Course Hotel is recently under new management the building has long been established as one of the areas most recognisable buildings. The building dates back to 1854 & has had various incarnations including the "Auchencoyle Hotel" seen among the pictures further down the page. The hotel itself still retains many of the original features including the golf coat of arms that sits proudly at the top of the building. As the hotel sits right next to the golf course it affords our customers an excellent view of a selection of holes, many visitors have commented on the view afforded to them from the bar/lounge main window & from the first floor above. As you would expect from a hotel with a central location the local shops are a 5 minute walk from the hotel itself & with only a short journey to & from the airport we believe that choosing the" Prestwick Old Course Hotel " for your stay will only add to the enjoyment you will experience visiting this historic part of Scotland.We recieve many visitors to the hotel that are suprised to find that the Prestwick area is not just about golf,golf.golf. There are places to visit in the area many of them rich with history & provide a welcome break for the visitor that wants to explore the area & not just the rough or bunkers. At our reception area you will find leaflets & infomation about the best way to get about Prestwick & the surrounding area. Places of interest range from St Nicholas Church, Mercat Cross, Salt Pan Houses,The Sundial at Boydfield Gardens to the Prestwick Old Parish Church.
