Dolphin Hotel Southampton was built in 1300. A fantastic looking hotel recently completely refurbished 2004. Well finished and right in the center of City.
The lobby is medium sized with lots of seating, There is a bar to the left of the reception desk serving coffe's and alcoholic drinks of all descriptions. In 1751 was extensively rebuilt and a fine Georgian frontage was added, which has remained part of the landscape of Southampton high street ever since. William IV and Adelaide, his Queen bestowed their coat of arms on the hotel which was a popular place to rest for the night in the Elizabethan era. The hotel remained fashionable during the 19th century and was host to such celebrities as Queen Victoria, Jane Austen and Thackeray.
