THE FOSSIL TREE Bed and Breakfast is a welcoming & homely 200 year old guest house formally Stanhope Castle's Hunting Lodge. The Castle itself forms the focal point of the village & dates from 1795. Built on the original location of a medieval castle. The Fossil Tree B&B has been tastefully appointed to give its guests a comfortable, relaxed & friendly “home from home” B&B with views over the Norman Church of St Thomas’s dating from 1200 AD and our B&B also uniquely looks directly onto the famous 300 Million year old giant Fossil Tree. All rooms are En-Suite and are tastefully appointed with free WiFi throughout, tea coffee & biscuits, flat screen TV, DVD & selection of movies in every room. Hair drier & ironing facilities, secure cycle storage and many personal touches together with a full choice hearty breakfast ensure guests have a very comfortable & memorable stay.
