The Waimea Plantations Hotel, were the core of Hawaiian life in the 1800s, the place where Polynesian, Asian, and European influences blended to form the unique local culture of contemporary Hawaii. The Waimea Plantation Cottages, hidden away on the quiet, western coast of the Garden Isle of Kauai, is a nostalgic glimpse into Hawaiian life as it used to be. Guests are invited to revisit those days and to enjoy an experience unlike any other in the islands. If you’re looking for something away from the glitz and glitter of some of the larger hotels, it would be hard to beat the absolutely charming Waimea Plantation Cottages on Kauai.

This cluster of authentic sugar plantation homes, set in a peaceful coconut grove, has been carefully restored with period-inspired furniture and modern conveniences. The private cottages are set amidst a 27-acre coconut grove with a beachfront of black sand. Originally built in the early 1900’s, each vintage cottage has been historically restored and updated with modern amenities and conveniences, while maintaining the ambiance and charm of the plantation home. The 1, 2 and 3 bedroom cottages have complete kitchens and large lanais and are perfect for a romantic get-a-way or even a family reunion.

The rural atmosphere entices visitors to conscientiously pick fruit and flowers from the onsite gardens or spend lazy afternoons swinging in hammocks, strolling the black sand beach, or taking a dip in the oceanfront pool.
