The hotel room was very old but nice view! Yet I was not very impressed by the hotel. The service is very bad and The up selling is pretty in your face! Stayed one night and that is more than enough.
Hotel is in a good location near the tourist drop off for the junk boats that visit the bay islands. It is a 5 min walk right of the hotel facing the bay. The restaurants and beach are located left of the hotel another 5-10min walk past Novotel. The stay at the hotel was a short one which was adequate, i would not want to stay longer than a couple of nights you may get bored. Staff are very friendly but speak very little english. The room and toilet was clean and well kept, views of the bay were excellent. If you are a non-smoker please be aware they allow smoking throughout the hotel. Apart from that no real negative experiences.
When we arrived we were very pleasantly suprised with all aspects of the hotel, not least the excellent service - very attentive staff and very willing to help as much as possible. The room was also fantastic, large, comfortable, perfectly clean and a brilliant view.

The breakfast menu is geared to asian palettes and they only provided a very limited European selection.
There appears to be very little to do in the area and the travel desk was not manned during our stopover.

We booked a Superior room and were given a fabulous room with a fantastic view of Halong Bay. We do not often eat in the hotels that we stay in but at this hotel everything was so pleasant that we did not want to make the effort to find a different place to eat. Food prices were ok. Breakfast was good. Staff were friendly and helpful although English was very limited but good enough for our needs. I would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone and we wish we could find hotels like this for a similar price everywhere that we travel. If you were looking to find somewhere to eat away from the hotel you would have a reasonable distance to walk or would need a taxi.

Good location,14th floor breakfast fanstatic view for halong bay.value for money for such a 4 star hotel.we having dinner at the hotel restaurant,although the food come late but its tasted good and cheap ,4 person only cost Usd 12.I will recomended this hotel to my friends and will stay again in future.
Overall nice hotel. But not all rooms have an inroom-safe, what you realy need in Halong Bay! Also lunch was slow and dinner to fast. You realy need to recount your bills because they make a lot of "mistakes". Especialy at the pool charging more for drinks than on te menu. Don't stay to long in Halong as there is nothing to do at night!
Large tall modern hotel up steep drive. We stayed in villa room up steep hill again. Good view from restaurant overlooking bay. Hotel located at bay furthest end from centre but opposite water puppet theatre. Hotel good for price but do not use restaurant's for dinner, food awful.
