Excellent location. Very helpful staff, and great, spacious and well designed rooms. Good size office table, which is most useful for those looking for plenty of working space. The only complaint is the very hard bed, which took some time to get use to. I also found the restaurant/room service menu prices a bit inflated, but this is 5 star, so...

The Melia Hanoi comes up to the...
The Melia Hanoi comes up to the standards of the Melia chain worldwide. Rooms are large and well maintained, with air con that actually works (still a rarity in Viet Nam). The breakfast buffet is extensive, multi-ethnic, and well prepared. As an added bonus, the hotel enjoys an exceptional location, on the fringe of the Old Quarter yet at the heart of central Hanoi, where most of the restaurants, expat bars and nightclubs are to be found. Above all, the hotel is quiet-- you will not hear the ceaseless cacophony of bus, truck, car and moped horns that dominate the streets 24 hours a day! Highly recommended.

Food at restaurant was just fair, and not cheap, but otherwise this is a gorgeous hotel, a fantastic value for the money (much better than bigger hotel chains), a great location as well. The staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful--they were wonderful (although the front desk staff could use some additional English training). Room was big and beautifully furnished

Oustanding service. Everybody is so polite and helpful. Breakfast buffet is excellence. Restaurants foods are overpriced but not that great.
