Wonderful hotel - excellent service, charming pool/ gardens, and delicious breakfast buffet.  Request garden-facing room to avoid street noise at night.  Would definitely stay there again!

Outstanding. Hard to fault. Excellent, friendly staff at all levels. Superb french food. Restored Colonial wing for traditionists. High-tech new wing for modernists. Good central location. Highly recommended. Would not stay elsewhere in the luxury price range

A lovely hotel, full of colonial charm,...
A lovely hotel, full of colonial charm, in a perfect location near beautiful Hoan Kiem Lake. The staff is always helpful and friendly, and the rooms in the old wing (which is to be preferred) are charming in a low-key way. The recently refurbished restaurant (Le Beaulieu) has wonderful buffet breakfasts, and the other restaurants, including the outside bar, are equally nice. Definitely the place to stay in Hanoi.
