It was perfect, except the last day...
It was perfect, except the last day when we needed to pay, people was a bit busy and answered not so friendly as they were before. But anyway, most of them were very kind.

The hotel is worth a recommondation. The rooms a rather big and of good quality. The service is good (just ask and the staff will do). Both check-in and check-out were very efficient. Two down sides: 1) the hotel doesn't have a pool yet (under construction, available in the fall of 2006) 2) there's a construction side next to the hotel which gives some noice too early in the morning (end June 2006) Location is not bad, close to the train station and a 10 minute walk to the old quarter.

Great location - near the old town...
Great location - near the old town and 10 mins walk from the lake. Very helpful, friendly staff. Good value for money with excellent breakfast and nice touches like fresh drinking water in the room each day. We left our luggage safely at the hotel (at no charge) whilst on the trip to Halong Bay.

good place, very good breakfast, but we had to claim because they put us in a very noisy room near the airconditionning system for the whole building; it was diificult to obtain to be moved

This hotel in no way deserve its...
This hotel in no way deserve its 4 star status. Room is of good size but poor facility. There wasn't any toothbrush in my bathroom. Also, the hotel got a strange policy of no visitor after 9pm. Overall experience was pretty average. not what I would expect from 4 star standard or a luxurious hotel.

This the goodies, then the downsides. Large and clean rooms which are very clean, good breakfast. However, biggest malus is windows are not noise-proof, which you would expect for a hotel in this price range. On top, location is not smack on old quarter, where you get cheap hotels are close proximity. Would not stay again in it, due to poort price/service relationship. But this is fixable, and hope his will be done.

My wife and I really enjoyed our...
My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at the Guoman Hotel in Hanoi. Very comfortable hotel to be in. We were lucky enough to have a balcony (not many rooms do) and that was such a plus. Breakfasts were very good. The only minus I can think of was the pillows. I prefer feathers over foam.
