Very enjoyable stay in dec 05. Comfortable bed, good selection of satellite tv channels and in-house movies. Very clean and modern bathroom. There is construction work being carried out besides the hotel but it did not disrupt our rest. Location of hotel is tip top. Several good restaurants nearby. 15 min walk to Old Quarters only. Very convenient. Service of staff is erratic. Breakfast menu did not change throughout our 2 weeks stay in hanoi. Overall, it is good value for money!
We very much enjoyed our week stay at the Guoman, Hanoi. It is perfectly located closely to the old quarter and to the train station. The staff is very friendly and efficient. Very much appreciated the non-smoking floor! Good breakfast buffet with local and western fair.

Very nice hotel with friendly professional staff, pleasant room with all you could need. No pool however. Hotel a walk away from the old town where we spent most our time, so was not ideal for what we were after. There weren’t any restaurants/drinking places in the immediate vicinity of the hotel. Taxis, however are not expensive. Use the meter its cheaper than agreeing a price upfront!
Hotel quite clean & nice, but cannot sleep since there is construction on progress besides the hotel, which is working the whole night. Pleasant staff in bar & shop. My friend visit me at night, but hotel has a funny regulation that guess cannot come to room after 9 pm.
The Guoman hotel itself would have been nice and clean and the location was quite convenient but the staff at the front desk and at the business center were absolutely impolite and not helpful at all. We wouldn't stay there again!
I travelled with a friend and we were both very pleasantly surprised by the high standard and reasonable rate. Friendly,welcoming, lovely spacious rooms including tea and coffee making (yahoo!) excellent selection at breakfast buffet and a quiet location still convenient to everything. On my next visit to Ha Noi I will go straight to the Guoman.
We stayed there last year - 2004 -- excellent - great rooms, very clean, very friendly and helpful staff - great location - 15 mins walk to the lake area (longer coming back as we always got lost - but who cares !!) - First class hotel.
The buffet breakfast was open early and provided everything expected. The pastry chef is outstanding and the service was very good each morning. The resturant on the other side was outstanding with very fine entertainment from a Filipino Combo Music group. The only thing that was inconvenient was the fact that I had to go to the bell captain each morning to get a newspaper. My previous stay, the paper was left at my door each morning. Overall I had a very good stay at the hotel. I will return again on my next visit.
