Stayed in this hotel in November 2006....
Stayed in this hotel in November 2006. This hotel is in a fantastic location close to everything. We arranged a pick up at the airport through the hotel and the driver was waiting for us in the arrival hall. We had requested a room on a high floor but in hindsight we would not do it again as the hotel does not have a elevator. The room was superb, fitted our with ornate furniture and decor. There was also a small balcony providing an wonderful view over the city. The buffet breakfast was excellent catering to all tastes. The reception staff were fantastic, always ready to assist you with anything. There is also free internet access which was great for checking emails, etc. All in all a fantastic hotel of which I have no hesitation in recommending.

We greatly enjoyed our stay and were...
We greatly enjoyed our stay and were pleasantly surprised by room size, cleanliness, and helpfulness of staff. Hotel is a must for budget conscious traveler. Location is great; you are in the middle of old Hanoi. Staff is knowlegable and helpful. We stayed here over Christmas and staff organized a huge party for guests with open bar free of charge. Clientel are international travelers, low key and interesting to talk to. Can recommend it to everyone.

Great location - close to the Lake...
Great location - close to the Lake and right in the Old Quarter. Staff is very friendly and very helpful. They also provided fresh fruits which is nice especially after a long day sightseeing. They also provide free internet (via 1 PC near the reception). The only bad point is that they don't have a lift which may be a problem for senior travellers. I will definitely stay here again.

We paid $45 US for this hotel...
We paid $45 US for this hotel and it was comparable to others in the area that rented for $20-$25. There was no window in our room to the outside. You could hear the kitchen and restaurant noise. However, the location was good and the breakfast passable. The staff was fairly helpful.

I've stayed here twice now, both times...
I've stayed here twice now, both times in the Deluxe rooms. The room the first time was noticeably nicer than the room was the second time. The guys at the front desk can also get overwhelmed and be slow to respond to your requests. Overall a great location but nothing really special. I'll be trying somewhere else next time I go to Hanoi.

I stayed in the hotel for 5 nights in total the first 2 night we were given a room (at the left side of reception) on the 6thfloor and NO LIFT to the room. Only realised there were other rooms and a lift near the restaurant after 2 days,so we asked and got to one of those rooms which are much more spacious and modern. Certainly the rooms that have no lift to are not suitable for small children or elderly (as the steps are quite high) Otherwise hotel was clean

Great size rooms right where the action...
Great size rooms right where the action is but be warned there are no lifts here and going up 8 floors can be quite a task. The front desk staff are a little bit too familliar but overall the staff are very good.

This hotel is well positioned to enable...
This hotel is well positioned to enable a traveller to walk to all the interesting areas in the old quarter of the city. The staff were very friendly and attentive to all requirements and organised the hotel car for a trip to the ceramic villlage and back to the airport at the end of our short stay - all without any problems. The hotel is spotlessly clean and we enjoyed the delux rooms with Vietnamese furniture - remember this is Vietnam delux level not UK or USA delux level -. The road the hotel is situated on is a fairly busy one but the scooter hoots and toots were not audible after 23.00 but one could enjoy the bussle of life passing up and down the street when having a drink in the bar.

The location is good, the breakfast is...
The location is good, the breakfast is great, but the staff is not very helpful (they mixed our reservation and tried to give us a standard room despite we book an exclusive room) and the price is too high compared to other hotels in the same quality except the breakfast offer.

My new-wife and I stayed for 3...
My new-wife and I stayed for 3 nights in October, and found the room, which was on the top floor, to be clean, fairly well equipped and away from the hustle and bustle of the street below. We received fruit in our room every day which was a nice touch, and the guys on the front desk were especially helpful and friendly, letting us use their facilities before flying out to Danang after returning from a 2 day stay in Sa Pa and one night in Halong Bay. Better value can be found than the in-house restaurant; overall though we would recommend.
