The staff at the hotel made our Vietnamese experience complete! We were recommended this hotel by a Vietnamese Travel agent, and were delighted with our stay.We stayed in a suite for our honeymoon, and this was a really nice change from the larger more commercial hotels. This was the last stop for our holiday in Vietnam, and was extremely memorable! I would recommend this hotel for travellers looking for something a little different. The furniture was beautiful -all solid teak.

The hotel staff were especially helpful in making sure my requests were met. I was glad that they could speak enough english to explain certain situations and even recommend us to places that we hoped to go but had no better idea. Breakfast was good, there was always something different on the menu every morning. The location is central and easy to access other parts of Hanoi. We had a deluxe room which was large and came with a balcony. Try to go for a lower floor as the lift broke down on one of the days, you wouldn't want to climb up 9 floors. The street in front becomes quiet at night so you'll be able to get a good sleep. TV came with HBO, MTV, Star Movies, Cartoon Network... so you can watch TV if you want to stay in. There's a electronic room safe which made me feel very secure about my belongings. It's recommended to get the hotel to do room cleaning, everyday we return to a clean room and complimentary basket of fresh fruits.

We paid for a deluxe room but did not get a Deluxe Room with a balcony as described in the description. We asked and they said there are different types of deluxe rooms. The room are small. The TV had very few channels in English and the air-conditioned made a racket. The breakfast was limited and the worst we had on the 3 week trip. Plus they ripped us off for the mini bar by charging us for drinks we didn’t drink. The airpost tranfer was 45 mins late taking us to the airport. Room decription: "The hotel offers 8 larger rooms with balcony for street view in 22m2. All rooms are large in size and eqquipped with all comforts to provide you with complete relaxation for your stay pleasure".

We stayed at the hotel for 2 weeks, and overall we enjoyed the experience very much. The buffet breakfast was extensive, although we would have prefered more varieties of fruit, and the bar closes early 10 pm. Restaurant/bar staff friendly and helpful. There is only one computer for internet services and its very slow. The rooms were cleaned daily, and sheets and towels changed daily too. The trips we booked through the hotel were great. However we strongly advise all guests to put anything at all they do not want touched in the safe.We had bought a bottle of whiskey which someone helped themselves too, and the management would take no responsibility, and one of the the cleaners used my bath sponge to clean the bathroom. Not nice!

I'd really enjoyed during the stay at hong ngoc1. Location was good, staffs really good. They were kind and spoke english well. I arrived about 10:30 AM! But there was no problem to check in, so I could take a good rest after long flight from paris. There's 1 computer in the lobby and it's free, you cam check your e-mail or else. Though so many things were stressful and annoying in hanoi, One thing wasn't, and it's hong ngoc 1.

This hotel is actually achain. There are four location within walking distance of each other. Although there are cheaper hotels in the area, it worth paying a little more to stay here. Great location and clean rooms. The only problem was climbing 5 flights of stairs got a little old after a full day of sightseeing.

Friendly and very helpful staff (except for the night manager), very good location and good breakfast. Room is quite dark and somewhat claustrophobic but OK. I can't comment on its value relative to other Hanoi hotels but thought the price is on the high side. I stayed in both deluxe and superior rooms; the latter is definitely not worth the money.

It was a great trip in Hanoi...
It was a great trip in Hanoi and Hong Ngoc 1 hotel made it even better. The hotel is situated in the heart of old quarter and accessable to attractive places in walking distance. Staffs are friendly and breakfast is modest but tasty. I got the very quiet room but the room was quite deemed. Apart this, everything was so good.

Our stay was delightful and the hotel...
Our stay was delightful and the hotel was excellent. Being in Hanoi for a very short time, I can't say much about it, except for the Old Quarter, where the hotel is located. We walked many streets, dodging scooters and mad bicycles, shopping for hours. The hotel is in a perfect location for this type of stay. Also the service was great. We stayed only one night and left for Halong Bay, returning 2 days later. The staff at the hotel were kind enough to let us leave our bags upon our return until our late leaving plane. They also allowed us to shower in the sauna room and phoned for the hotel taxi to take us to the airport. I would definitely recommend the place on service alone. Our room, however, was also great. Not huge, but big enough (deluxe) with the old Vietnamese heavy wood furniture. Spotlessly clean. The only drawback was the twin beds - we had ordered a double.
