My mother and I stayed in Hotel Zephyr twice at the end of September 2006. We found the location excellent- a stone's throw from Lake Hoan Kien and convenient enough to walk to both the Old Quarter and the French Quarter. The first time we checked in, we had booked a deluxe room through Asiarooms. The room was clean and pleasant, however, the window looked out into an internal stairwell. The second time we checked in, we were upgraded to the best suite in the hotel with a terrace overlooking Lake Hoan Kiem. Both rooms were very quiet, came with all the usual amenities one would expect of a 4* hotel, and maintained to a high standard of cleanliness. The breakfast buffet every morning was delicious. We were very pleased with our stay, especially the staff who were always very helpful. We took side trips to Sapa and Ha Long Bay and before we left for Sapa and Ha Long Bay the hotel staff arranged for us to have access to bathroom facilities to shower and re-organise our belongings which was very useful. Hotel Zephyr is recommended if you are looking for a boutique, well-located, clean, well-run, relatively small hotel in a convenient location.
