Well located hotel with good breakfast. However...
Well located hotel with good breakfast. However room given to us is quite tight should ask for a bigger size room for 2 persons.
Just beside Hoan Kiem Lake, walking distance to old quarter, water puppet theater and minibus station to airport(VND25000)
Staff are helpful and friendly, would stay again on my next visit.

Front desk promised to arrange taxi for us to the airport in the morning. We ended up waiting 30min while he tried to find a taxi.
We were in Hanoi over 18-21 Dec...
We were in Hanoi over 18-21 Dec 2008 with my parents and my sister - we booked for 2 rooms with twin beds but were told on check-in that there were only double beds available. My parents opted for a room on the 3rd floor at the end of the corridor, where there was little natural light and the furnishings very dated. My sister and I had an attic-size room (very little space besides the bed) and a bathroom that was relatively modern compared to the room my parents were in. Other than the fact the room-grade quality was not consistent, we really enjoyed the location of the hotel (so centrally located for visits to the Old Quarters, and the supermarket a street away) and the breakfast buffet. Service was friendly, and the reception (one particular gentleman who was at the desk at 2pm on 18 Dec) went out of its way the day we checked to ensure that we had the rooms we wanted. No complaints at all about this hotel - other than the fact it was rather pricey as we booked it at the last minute! I would return again - and this time request for rooms in the highest floor.

We chose the Zephyr for a one night stay. It accommodated us well, clean, full buffet breakfast. The hotel is situated in a great location in the old quarter area and Bobby Chinn's restaurant is across the street.
We did have a problem with the reserved booking of our taxi for the early morning trek to the airport. Suggest you ask the reception to give you a receipt.

We were fortunate to get a free upgrade to a Suite room so were very happy with the room. The hotel itself was very good and in a good location near the lake. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Could not fault the hotel or the staff in any way and would not hesitate to stay there again.

After researching Zephyr Hotel it lived up to my expectations in terms of room cleanliness and facilities. The hotel staff, particularly Reception and Doorman, were very friendly and extremely helpful.
Location is excellent. This was our first experience in Vietnam and it was a very positive one.
We would stay at Zephyr Hotel again.
Our Suite (room 605) was nice with...
Our Suite (room 605) was nice with own balcony and a view to the lake. But staying in the room was almost impossible because they where breaking down the 8th floor. It was like staying in the middle of construction site. Workers started every morning at 7 AM till evening. Resting during the day was not possible.
Hotel management did not give any warning about this inconvenience nor apologize it. They should close the hotel during the construction work and not charge full price for the rooms.
Deluxe room week before was quite small. You take shower in the bath tube where the water wasn't possible to empty.
Hotel stuffs english was not too good.

Good hotel, brilliant location, right next to Hoan Kiem. Nothing spectacular, but very well organised. Staff cheerful and welcoming.

Friendly staff, great location (excellent upmarket restaurant right across the road)- also right across road from the lake. Good value for money - breakfast was excellent. Bathroom was however very tired.
