My husband and I stayed here for...
My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights in June and had a wonderful time. This is a beautiful hotel, and I would recommend it to anyone staying in Hanoi. The hotel is located in the Old Quarter, about a healthy 3/4 mile walk from the lake. The hotel has been remodled at some point, because it is in impeccable shape, and the bathrooms are modern, clean, and spacious. The decorations throughout the hotel are tasteful, and although our room was small, it was extremely nice. We ate at the hotel restaurant (located on the top floor) twice, which was great. The food was excellent and reasonably priced, and they have a full bar. We sat out on the restaurant patio one night and had drinks and appetizers and listened to the street noise down below! They put out an excellent complimentary breakfast buffet each morning, which is a great way to start the day. The hotel receptionists were very helpful with any questions we had about the area. They even let us store our luggage there for 3 days while we did a cruise through Ha Long Bay. This hotel is a wonderful find. I highly recommend it, and if we ever make it back to Hanoi, we will definately stay here again.

Qouc Hoa is a real oasis in...
Qouc Hoa is a real oasis in the downtown area it has a European feel about it. We stayed there twice, its rooms are similar size to many other hotels in the area but the bathroom is superior in most ways. The front and back rooms are bigger & brighter with a balcony or view over the city but more expensive and noiser, most rooms look through a light court across the city all these rooms have twin beds which are pushed together if you order a queen bed. Breakfast was in the delightful top floor resturant and terrace overlooking Hanoi, perhaps not as grand a spread as some hotels but a full range of fruit, juices, eggs, bacon, cold cuts, breads etc, a fresh omlette is available on request. The street is one way which tricked some taxi drivers. In all a very comfortable well run hotel better than most in the same price range and extremely well located.

My wife and I stayed there for...
My wife and I stayed there for 5 nights during our recent trip to Vietnam. The rooms are clean and the service is very professional and friendly at the same time. We really liked the breakfast and the breakfast room (at the 7th floor) with very nice terrace views over the Old Quarter. The location is really excellent because not only it is in the Old Quarter but is in the south part of it so you're also close to Hoam Kiem Lake. You can walk to almost everywhere. Just a suggestion: Try not to get a room on the 6th floor as tends to be noisy early morning (around 6 am) while the staff prepares the breakfast room on the 7th floor.

The Quoc Hoa was not a bad...
The Quoc Hoa was not a bad boutique hotel. What made it fall into the average category in most regards (subpar in some) is that I asked for a queen or king bed and got two twin beds pushed together. The room was tiny, although the bathroom was fine. The facilities were clean and the internet usage was easy and cheap. I guess for $50 this wasn't so bad, given the solid old quarter location. However, having stayed at some great hotels earlier, I noticed the difference. I can't blame the QH for this because it does bill itself as a boutique. Still, one shouldn't think it's just like staying in a big hotel in terms of amenities - it's not. No massage, pool, room service past 10 and they shut down the front facade sometime after midnight. I came back at 3am one night and couldnt' find the entrance. Some guy told me to knock on the door that covered the entrance - and promptly asked me for a dollar for this favor. I was just glad the hotel hadn't moved and gave it to him. Not bad, but definitely more of a budget place that won't really work for families, couples in search of something memorable or those seeking any special level of amenities on site. This is de

This hotel was great. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Good breakfasts. Good location. We stayed here twice during our two week trip to Vietnam, first in a Deluxe room and then in the Standard room. While the Deluxe certainly was larger (both room as well as bathroom) and the bed linens a bit better, the Standard room was fine.

The Quoc Hoa was a fantastic place to stay, it has a cosy and relaxing atmosphere, especially after a long day in the hustle and bustle of the old quarter! The staff have a high standard of service and are exceptionally friendly and very helpful. The restaurant is also good value and good food. Would definitely stay at the Quoc Hoa again.:-)

Great hotel, right in the middle of...
Great hotel, right in the middle of everything, close to Hoan Kiem Lake. Location is great, hotel is new, we were there on the 2nd jan 06. Very friendly staff, and attentive that we were spending our last honeymoon night in Hanoi that they gave us a great room. Even though its right smacked in the middle of everything, when you shut the windows, you can't hear a thing! Bit expensive for deluxe room in the area but its definitely worth the splurge. Free internet access but no swimming pool was my only hick-up. But i think they've got sauna etc. The buffet breakfast was bad and stale but you could always go out for a cheapy breaky. Decor in the room has a nice touch to it, pillows a little bit high, but not as bad as some of the other hotels we've been to.

Situated very good right in Old Hanoi,...
Situated very good right in Old Hanoi, but clean and quired rooms with all comfort. Only request at least 3rd floor (2-5 available)to have enough brightness in the room. Service is excellent and very friendly and helpfull. Very rich breakfast in 6th floor with beautiful panorama over the city roofs. For dinner look outside in nearby restaurants of which you can find severals 200-500m around in the charming -crowdy streeets of the Quartier.
