Nice Hotel in the heart of the...
Nice Hotel in the heart of the old town. Internet line for free in the room, but the shower in the bathroom didn't work so good. Nice people, and a very clean house. The big problem, the rumor in the roooms with window to the street(called VIP Rooms).

The service at Hong Ngoc 2 was...
The service at Hong Ngoc 2 was great - very friendly and helpful. The room was large and very clean, with a balcony overlooking the street (that's room 501). The street is pretty loud, but the windows keep out most of the noise - so it's very quiet in the room. The only bad point is that the street out front is so very busy -- some of the other Hong Ngoc locations are on quieter streets. I didn't mind the busy street so much, as it was very close (maybe 2 blocks) to the lake and to great shopping/browsing. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

I really enjoyed my stay at this...
I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. They were very friendly and accomodating, letting us adjust one day so we could do a tour and providing storage for our luggage. It's in a good location for walking to the lake and around the Old Quarter. I would definitely stay here again!

the location is perfect smack in the city and accessible to everywhere, the room altho small in size is very quiet and clean, the aircon is in perfect condition The staffs initially were very nice and helpful butwhen we did not use the services they recommended they show their displeasure Have to be careful abt taking recommendations from them as prices vary quite a bit !!! Otherwise a great place to stay for the price

This hotel was sufficient and clean for my needs in Hanoi. The staff was a little snobby for my tastes. The location was ok and within one block of the lake. One complaint is the fact that the key is needed to lock the door from the inside. This is unsafe because if there were an emergency it would be very difficult to exit. The room key is needed to turn on the electricity. When you pull out the room key the room becomes dark. All in all the experience at this hotel was ok. If the staff had been a little friendlier, the experience would have been outstanding.

This Hotel is right in the middle...
This Hotel is right in the middle of all the "hubbub" of Hanoi. However the city noise was not heard in the room. Out of all the Hotels I stayed in in Vietnam and cambodia, it had the most comfortable bed. A/C worked good and bathroom was fine. Very clean and nothing to really fault. Staff very happy and helpful, breakfast fine too. This is not a "luxury" hotel but prefectly adequate for sightseeing.

Very nice, friendly and helpful staff members. Only the fridge was not cooling enough. If I go back to Hanoi, certainly I would like to go back to this hotel.

I think the hong ngoc 2 is...
I think the hong ngoc 2 is overpriced. My room had a shower that did not drain. There was no emergency exit and my room was located at the far far end of the hall. Breakfast (included) was really disappointing - perhaps catered more to chinese guests. I would have been grateful for beef pho, instead there was spaghetti bolognaise and bad white bread (this is not what all westerners eat for breakfast). Also, hotel reception tried twice to charge me $14 for a taxi to the airport. The known price is $10.

Helpful staff. Clean rooms. Good value for money. Right in the centre of the old quarter and the backpacker area. Watch out for the rooms which have no fire escape!
