The hotel is quite ok but the photo posted on Asiarooms of the external of the hotel is highly deceiving. While situated at a very convenient central location, it is on a very narrow lane (so narrow that cars struggles to get through because of the large number of motorbikes parked at its entrance). It looks nothing like the picture posted. That aside, I find the staff helpful and friendly. The room is quite spacious I guess about par for value.
The hotel had great location. We were able to walk every where. The staff were friendly and gave great advice. For the room rate we paid we expected it to be a little nicer. The air conditioning hardly cooled the room and the lift seemed to stop working occosionally. The breakfast was horrible, even the bread was dry and old.
The hotel is located at a central location whereby accessibility to most of the tourist attractions are within walking distance. However, the only negative thing is that they do not replenish toiletries on a daily basis. Nevertheless, it is a comfortable accommodation.
We stayed at The Imperial Hotel Hanoi for 5 nights in all. The location was great and the staff was happy and agreeable.
The location is ideal in the old quarter and close to the lake -- without doubt the Imperial is the best hotel in the street and it was with some misgivings that we went into the street initially - - the street is very dirty and uncared for. However the hotel itself soon put to rest any doubts we had.
The staff were helpful and the rooms clean and servicable even though a little out dated and an upgrade could be needed shortly. There is no clock in the room.
The breakfast was woeful with a 4 slice toaster to service all of the guests which did not brown the bread even after two attempts to do so. The choice of food was limited and the same every morningwith absolutley no variation. In saying this I also need to say that it did give you a meal at the beginning of the day - - uninteresting though it may have been - - basic is the only realistic comment. - - The service at breakfast was also not good with two people trying to service everyone and having to wait for some time for refills of coffee (and no ability to be able to self serve which could have fixed this problem)
The reception staff were good and arranged tours for us as requested and were very helpful in advice about the city and surrounds. However we did notice a certain coldness when we questioned the exchange rates at reception one morning and a distinct "well go to the bank then" which we did.
There was no "Do not Disturb/Make up my room" sign in our room and we found that we were interupted by housekeeping several times when we required not to be disturbed.
In regard to value for money we booked the 5 nights through Asia rooms . The room booked just prior to leaving Australia was at a cheaper rate but on check out all 5 night had been included on the bill at the higher rate - - they rectified this without complaint.
All in all a good experience and we would stay there again.
The location of the hotel right in the mid of the old quarter is the best thing the hotel can offer. Out of the door you are in the mid of Hanoi life like it is today. There are a lot of nice restaurants arround. Especially there is a fantastic French restaurant just arround the corner. OK, the room was clean, the staff friendly but (now it comes) the breakfast was one the worst we've ever had. All in all a good experience but we would never take that hotel again.
We were happy with our stay. The breakfast and room were good. I think the rooms vary in standard and it's worth asking for a quiet room with plenty of natural light. Ideal for walking around Hanoi whilst you arrange your onward trip.
Just booked the hotel 1 nite via asiarooms.com. I really enjoyed our stay at the Hanoi Imperial. The location is terrific- a minutes walk to Hoan Kiem Lake and very close to all the tourist sites. The staff were very friendly and helpful- I used this hotel as a storage place for luggage while we travelled to Halong Bay (2 nights) and Sapa (3 nights) which was booked via hotel's online staff. I am sure to recommend Hanoi Imperial Hotel. I am in SAPA now- an excellent trip. Well Done!!!
We enjoyed our stay at the Hanoi Imperial Hotel. Great location in the old quarter, close to the night market and other attractions. Room was spacious, comfortable and well appointed. Staff were friendy and helpful. Breakfast was just OK and finished at 9.30 which was a little early for us. However, we had a very early morning flight and staff arranged a complimentary takeaway breakfast which was a nice touch. Overall we would definately recommend this hotel to friends and other travellers.
This is an excellent three star hotel with great service. I was in a very spacious ,quiet and clean room on the 7th floor with a balcony and large windows overlooking the lake. The hotel has just opened for business, so all facilities are very modern and well equipped: LCD TV, DVD player, wooden floor, comfy bed
