Having arranged collection from the airport via an exchange of e-mails all went very smoothly. The hotel staff were very welcoming and immediately helped arrange tours in and around Hanoi.
The room was perfectly adequate with a queen sized bed and all the facilities required. As it was an 'inside' room it was quiet without traffic noise. However there was virtually no natural light but as the room was just for sleeping this was no problem.
All in all this friendly hotel offers very good value for money with excellent service but don't expect 5 star status

Very impressive sevice, lovely hotel.
We stayed at this hotel 5 nights for whole trip 2 weeks in Vietnam . We must say that we loved this hotel and all the staff, some of who are as cute as can be :) Incredible service and quality of accommodation for only $35 per night, breakfast included. You would not get this quality of accommodation for this price anywhere else - our trip begun from the south of Vietnam. We had a room on the 3th floor with a balcony overlooking the street. Yes, the streets in the Old Quarter can be incredibly noisy, but we didn't hear much noise when sleeping. The room was very clean, huge and nice decor. We booked 2 days trip to Halong bay through the hotel travel desk with a big promotion 20% off was offered by the manager Patrick Lee. All in all we had a very good impressive at this hotel.
1st time, Last time
When we arrived at the hotel we were taken to our room located at the front of the hotel. We could barely speak with the manager as the street noise was so loud. The manager insisted that we come down to the lobby to discuss what other trips we would like to take while we were in Hanoi. He pulled out all of the books with photos and started putting our itinerary together with one trip after another though we had said that we wanted to take our time and rest between the trips. After being irritated by his persistence, we got up and walked away to our room. The manager followed us and would not stop. I asked if he had a different room as the street noise was unbearable it did not appear that it would get better. He moved us to a room at the back of the hotel which was a little better but still quite noisy. The ad was different than what we got. We stayed the first night but could not sleep from the noise. In the morning the cleaning staff would start shouting at each other from one floor to the next. Breakfasts were good and the breakfast staff were helpful. The front desk staff was not helpful and any time that we tried to process a transaction their machine was "not working" cash was easier. They even offered to drive me to the bank machine on their scooter. At night the front desk staff had no idea that people were trying to sleep and the continuously played their music loudly, even after repeatedly asking them to turn it down. No concept of a wake up call either. They made us promises to make the sale for a trip and then when we got there the accommodation was less than half of what they promised. The tours were not fun. The tour guide was not very good, our driver almost got in an accident half a dozen times and we were herded like cattle. They had promised to pick us up from the train station early in the morning when we got back from one trip and though they had charged us for it we were forgotten at the station and needed to find our own way back to the hotel.
Very pleased with reception service. I had booked Deluxe triple room for myself my younger and my sister for her 18th birthday for our 3 night stay in Hanoi and when we arrived after a long journey from Seoul we were very happy to hear that we had been upgraded to a Deluxe family with same price as were fully booked.It is the best hotel that i have ever stay. The room was very very nice, all hotel staffs were friendly, they help us to book the trip to Halong bay with Golden Lotus cruise and Sapa private tour ,stayed with Holiday hotel. The tour was so nice, good services, good price as well.Thanks to Asia Palace hotel, i had a realy great time in Hanoi , Vietnam.
Hanoi Stay
Good value for money accomadation,very helpful with early arrivals from trips.Booked out but willing to store our luggage at no cost. Breakfast good value and excellent customer service, would recommend to all travellers as good location to most city sights.
Dishonest - do not trust

Booked this hotel after reading good reviews, but we would definitely never use this hotel again after experiencing dishonest behaviour. We stayed at this hotel on 2 occasions in the last 2 weeks, once for 2 nights and then a single night a week later. We had the VIP family room and the 2nd time paid $84USD for 1 night (nearly double what was paid the week before), it was on the 4th floor, no lift, carried own bags, and extremely noisy even with ear plugs. On both times we found large coakroaches in the room, the towels were brown/grey, the 2nd time there was an ashtray full of used cigarettes in the room not cleaned from previous guests. We could probably have overlooked these things and the cold breakfast, but there were 2 bad things happened. An article of clothing went missing, and on the first stay we found staff in our room at odd times of the day for no reason, on the second stay our suspicions were confirmed when on return from a meal we found one of the staff using our shower and toilet, we found this very offensive and dishonest and question how safe guest belongings are when staff feel it is alright to use guest\'s rooms - there was no safety box in the room despite being listed on web site. Would definitely not use again (had other issues as well). We stayed in many hotels in Viet Nam and they were all excellent including 2 home stays, this was the first hotel we found dishonest and also the first time I\'ve written a negative review.

Cheap and Cheerful
Stayed here for 5 nights with my mother on a family visit. Room was spacious, staff where friendly and location was close to most tourist destinations. It was great value for money at 20 gbp for the both of us per night!
We absolutely loved staying at the Asia...
We absolutely loved staying at the Asia Palace. It is located in the old quarter in Hanoi and is in walking distance of many landmarks and facilities such as banks and shops. They provide internet and have access to facebook which we unable to access in some other hotels in Vietnam. The service was excellent, all the staff were very friendly and helpful. Loi was very informative on our arrival (especially explaining about the pick pocketing in Hanoi). We had arrived from an early flight in Hanoi and they fixed the room for us and we were able to catch up on sleep. The decor in the rooms is great and they are so clean. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with air conditioning. When you close the curtains it gets very dark and little noise - therefore it was perfect for us to catch up on sleep during the day. The breakfast was fresh and very filling. The staff were always quick to help us no matter what time it was. They organised our trip to Halong Bay and made everything so easy for us. We returned to the hotel for one night after Halong Bay, I was not feeling well and they organised some excellent room service for us. The hotel organised a car to take us to the airport early in the morning as we had a flight to Saigon, it cost around 15 to 20 dollars and the driver was careful and the vehicle very comfortable. Upon our arrival in Saigon we realised that we had left something in the hotel and they have been very helpful in trying to return it to us in Australia promptly.

Nice and Friendly Staff !This hotel is worth really affordable. The Hotel itself its nearby shopping areas ..... No wonder this hotel is packed with tourist..nice friendly reception & concierge. Pretty sure that we will stay here again on our next visit!..No Regrets !!!
