Fantastic Hotel
We stayed at the Boss Hanoi for 5 nights, originally booked for 3 but due to a typhoon in Halong bay, we decided to extend our stay. The staff reserved us the same room and helped us select alternative tours and day trips which were all fantastic. We stayed in a suite which was great, very large bed and very quiet and although the hotel is situated in a busy area, the street noise was inaudible. Breakfast was really good, great selection of food, cereal, fruit, cooked food and made to order omlettes in the basement bar area. I would recommend this hotel and definately stay here again

Brilliant Time
We were lucky enough to be staying at the hotel on April 30th, which besides being Liberation Day for Vietnam was also the 2nd anniversary of the opening of the hotel. So the staff were in party mood and invited us to join them. They were all very welcoming and friendly and we had a very memorable last night in Hanoi. We stayed in 3 different hotels in Hanoi - all 3/4 star and we thought this one was the best value of money, good location and very good standard of facilities on offer.

Very Disappointed
We were very disappointed with the hotel administration. We booked 3 nights with dinner and breakfast included as stated in the booking confirmation. However, when we checked in, we were told by the hotel staff that there was a mistake and dinner was not included. On the fourth day, we left for a 1-night boat trip to Halong Bay. The staff persuaded us to return to stay in the hotel on the fifth night, so we paid in full in advance for an additional night booking. When we returned from the Halong Bay trip, we were shocked to find out that the hotel had no room for us! We were channeled to an old 2-star hotel down the road for the night. It was a terrible experience there as our room was the only room on the topmost floor, and throughout the night we were awakened by the groaning and creaking of the roof and boards in the wind outside. We felt cheated and although we were given a free lift to the airport the next day after we complained, we don't think it is the right way to treat any guest.

A great little hotel, very close to the lake and Water Puppet Theatre. Standard rooms are a little small, but they are well appointed and have a window. The outstanding feature: excellent, obliging and friendly staff who work hard at communicating in English. Plentiful and varied breakfast. A good stay here.

Rooms very clean & neat. Smallish but comfortable. Free drinking water in rooms each day & Fresh fruit in Room on arrival(a nice touch). Free Internet access supplied in-room was a great advantage. Restaurant down stairs had really good Breakfast & also a bar. Great location very close to the lake area in Old Quarter of Hanoi amongst the "charming madness" and wonderful street life of this very very busy city. Staff really friendly & helpful, including booking day tours like HaLong Bay etc, changing money to local currency, and even help with wrapping souvenier art for safe travel!

The Hanoi old quarter is made up...
The Hanoi old quarter is made up of streets upon streets of connected 3-4 storey narrow buildings. Since everything is concentrated together, things can get pretty noisy and congested. But then again, that is where the charm of the place lies. Lots of food, drinks and shopping at your door step. Look elsewhere if peace and tranquility are what you seek. The hotel has an excellent location on a relatively quiet street in the old quarter. Only problem was the noise coming from the construction next door. These guys work from early morning to late at night so it can get noisy at times. It may be helpful to ask for a room that is away from the building next door but not sure how much this would help as the hotel itself is quite small. The room I stayed in is very new and clean but is a little small. However for the price, it is still a good value for money. The staff were very friendly and helpful. All in all, highly recommended for this category of hotel i.e < USD50.
