Well looked after
The Service was fantastic very friendly staff. The room was nice but the noise from the street was a bit of hassel, I would suggest to get a room faceing away from the city. They were happy to allow guests to atay over night and dont hassel the locals asking for ID. This service is very good for the traveling bachelor. I would go back again\
Peace Out..

This was our second visit to the Rising Dragon II and it definately won't be our last.
The staff are wonderful, it was like coming home to family!
Nothing is too much trouble for them.
They offer tour booking services to suit your budget and offer a very competative and convenient currency exchange service.
Manageress, Miss Anh is a worthy successor to the previous manager, Mr Tony (promoted within the group).
The Dragon will always be a special part of our Vietnam holidays!

Don't go past this hotel!
Highly reccommend this hotel in the old quarter of Hanoi. The staff in all parts of this hotel were extremely friendly & nothing was to much trouble for any of them. Ideally located in the old quarter of Hanoi close to everything & the staff were only to happy to do tour bookings & tell you about local attractions & eateries in & around the hotel. Going back to Vietnam next year & won't be staying any in Hanoi except in this hotel.

OK hotel but won't stay again
Receptionists were overall very polite and enthusiastic. This is my first trip to Vietnam. Comparing to the neighbouring Cambodia and Thailand, there appeared to be a rather lack of English skills even among the educated (those with BA in English) - not only a problem with this hotel, but an issue in general. Hotel was in a central location. Newly decorated. My room was on top floor, reasonably clean and noise free. However, shower took sometime to heat up, cleaner left out small bits and pieces on daily basis; and there was no stopping of Karaoke singing coming through the windows from the other establishments nearby at uncivilised hours. There is no 24 hours reception. There is a narrow front lobby, where a guard sleeps on the sofa and some motorbikes fill up the rest of the space. There had been more staff than necessary working in the Kitchen and on the ground floor reception area. They chatted away while they worked – it’s your take – interesting or slightly annoying if you are allergy to noise level. The lowest point was at the check out - it just occurred to me that they used the photocopies of our passports to write things down, to draw direction and to give away information to some others etc (scratch paper in general). I must say they did try their best to assist me. But will I stay again?

Average hotel
The hotel was of a reasonable standard standard but a number of aspects would cause me not to stay again. The room was quite clean but eree was mould in the shower sealant, the windows did not seal properly and had no fly screens so bugs often got into the room. The breakfast buffet was very bsic compared with similarly priced hotels and the pho seemed to be a packet mix with 2 minute noodles and fairly flavourless broth. Front desk staff were very friendly but unfamiliar with the tours displayed on the Rising Dragon website and instead offered alternate tours, which made me suspicious of the quality of the tours offered as cheap unreliable tours can be common in Hanoi.

If there is a better hotel in...
If there is a better hotel in the Old Quarter of Hanoi we will never find it! The secret to this hotel is the great staff, they made us feel like family! Always friendly, helpful and professional. We got the best exchange rates on the Dong from the hotel, they helped us with planning and booking our tours to Halong Bay and Sapa and were always happy to help with advice on anything no matter how trivial. Toan (Mr Tony)and the staff are great ambassadors for their hotel and Hanoi. Give them a try, you won't be sorry.
