OK hotel but won't stay again
Receptionists were overall very polite and enthusiastic.
This is my first trip to Vietnam. Comparing to the neighbouring Cambodia and Thailand, there appeared to be a rather lack of English skills even among the educated (those with BA in English) - not only a problem with this hotel, but an issue in general.
Hotel was in a central location. Newly decorated. My room was on top floor, reasonably clean and noise free. However, shower took sometime to heat up, cleaner left out small bits and pieces on daily basis; and there was no stopping of Karaoke singing coming through the windows from the other establishments nearby at uncivilised hours.
There is no 24 hours reception. There is a narrow front lobby, where a guard sleeps on the sofa and some motorbikes fill up the rest of the space. There had been more staff than necessary working in the Kitchen and on the ground floor reception area. They chatted away while they worked – it’s your take – interesting or slightly annoying if you are allergy to noise level.
The lowest point was at the check out - it just occurred to me that they used the photocopies of our passports to write things down, to draw direction and to give away information to some others etc (scratch paper in general).
I must say they did try their best to assist me. But will I stay again?
