good clean hotel with friendly staff would reccomend this hotel very close to the hustle & bustle of the old quarter
great location
great location if youy wish to stay in the hustle & bustle of the old 1/4 close to bars restaurants markets etc hotel was clean & efficient the hotel staff were 2nd to none they couldn`t help enough breakfast was only just better than average but for a boutique hotel i dont think you could ask 4 more i would recomend this hotel and would also stay again if i was to travel to hanoi in the future
What a location
The Medallion is right in the centre of the action and the staff are exceptional in their desire (and ability) to make everything go smoothly.
We had a balcony room with a view over the street and enjoyed ourselves in the chaotic street scene that is the old Hanoi.
Breakfast was excellent but it was the friendliness of the staff who made it great.
We had a very reasonably priced late check out (9.00pm) before leaving on the night train to Sapa and on our return took advantage of a day rate to freshen up and recover from that awful train trip

A great hotel located in the heart...
A great hotel located in the heart of Hanoi. The service was great and breakfast good. The room needed a little TLC but was fine. I would definitely stay here again.

3-star hotel with 5-star service! The hotel...
3-star hotel with 5-star service! The hotel is new, so everything in the room was in very good condition. What especially impressed us were the staff, who were very friendly and helpful throughout. From the thoughtful and polite ladies manning the reception, who recommended restaurants, helped us make reservations and booked the cabs to get there, to the bellboys who were friendly and helped us with directions and questions, service at this hotel impressed us a lot. One evening, after a long outing to Halong Bay, we returned to find that the hotel had bought a cake for my friend as it was his birthday. That was a very pleasant surprise, as we hadn't informed them it was his birthday. We had fresh fruits in the room almost every day.
We also took the hotel's airport transfer, which was very comfortable and not hugely more expensive than taking an airport taxi. Beats having to deal with negotiations with taxi drivers to and from the airport.
The hotel is located right in the Old Quarters, making its location very convenient for food and shopping. There are also lots of tourist agencies nearby to book your tours around and outside the city. It is also walking distance to Hoan Kiem Lake.
All in all, we would highly recommend this hotel, and would definitely stay here again when we next visit Hanoi.

Lovely little boutique hotel - stayed 5 nights. Breakfast wasn't amazing and no bar area was a minor disappointment. Staff very helpful and tried hard to please.

The Medallion Hotel is conveniently located in the old town of Hanoi. Easy to reach great bars and restaurants on foot as well as take in the charming vibe of the narrow streets. On the upside the rooms are a decent size with all the basic amenities you'd expect, on the downside there was a damp smell lingering at all times and they lacked some basic conveniences such as towel hooks. This may be a result of the hotel being pretty new however this wasn't apparent from the state of the paint work.
The concierge at the tour desk was very quick to inform us as soon as we arrived that he could get us the best price for any tours and city services we need and that there was no need to shop around. Having shopped around we found there was a Halong Bay trip $30 cheaper than he had quoted which when questioned on he advised that he could also offer. This sums up the service here. They will give you the information they think you need to keep you happy and not necessarily all the information you need to make your decision. We encountered a similar problem when booking our overnight bus to Hue. Not a major problem just make sure you shop around first if you want to book extra services through the hotel.
Seems this hotel is brand new and...
Seems this hotel is brand new and still has a few teething problems, but none that would stop you staying there. Generally it's a great deal in a good location for the Old quarter of Hanoi. The staff were always willing to help, but they never replied to any emails before arrival. Minor electrical problems, hot water taking along time and sticking doors didn't distract from the stay.
