Wonderful hotel, the personnel is friendly
Wonderful hotel, the personnel is friendly, the service they provide is magnificent, the rooms a amazing and the view is spectacular.
We were at the begining of our trip in Hanoi at the Asia Star hotel. and then we continued to the south, my friend had some suits made for him and we didnt want to carry them all the way to the south, as we knew we will come back to Hanoi before flying back home we asked the hotel if would be possible to leave the suits with them as we have a reservation for our last night in Hanoi they agreed and without issues we were able to store the things there for more than 10 days, very flexible and nice of them.
My friend have told me that,we can’t use facebook here in Vietnam,but at the lobby I can do it…….so good. I hope you enjoy your time in Hanoi and in the Asia Star Hotel is the best choice of hotel you can make.

Perfect location, great value, excellent people.”We had a great time the hotel was extremely clean and friendly. The staff at the hotel helped us organise all our trips and flights. The breakfast was great and beds were very clean and comfortable. All I can say is lovely hotel, staff go out of their way to help with anything they can. I would stay again and recomend it to anyone looking for a hotel in Hanoi as is close to everything.

Great location, rooms are spotless, clean, new and very well-equipped but it's the outstanding customer service provided by Mr Joseph and excellent staff that really makes this hotel stand out. I don't think I've experienced better. Without exception, all the staff could not have been more helpful, efficient and friendly. Don’t hesitate to stay here when you visit Hanoi. You won’t regret it.
Location in the Old Quarter is fine for walking around, rooms were small but had the basics. A mix up with our identity caused some confusion when we arrived and this took a while to sort out, not helped by poor English skills by those on reception, and my even poorer Vietnamese skills. Eventually got correct room, in- room PC not working and never fixed (although boy on reception offered his personal laptop for us to use) and bathroom a bit mouldy, which they tried to sort after I pointed it out. Basic accomm, location OK, staff tried hard but struggled, only manager allowed to operate CC machine so plan ahead for checkout...

This hotel exceeded my expectations - largely because of the wonderful staff, warm and customer friendly! It's a cute, boutique hotel in the middle of the chaos of Hanoi's old quarter. The amenities at the hotel are comparable to a higher priced hotel - there is a minibar / refrig in the room and complimentary fruit which I thought was quite a nice touch. There is a computer in the room with free internet access - critical for business travelers and those leisure travelers who want to stay in touch. The free breakfast was more than adequate - a variety of choices. The pho was quite good - you can get traditional eggs and bacon as well.
They will do anything for you to make your stay enjoyable. The staff booked my cruise for me to Halong Bay and that excursion was the highlight of my trip.
You will not be disappointed with this lovely hotel with its lovely staff. Highly recommend.
The hotel was not only clean, quiet...
The hotel was not only clean, quiet and centrally located with good air conditioning, we had internet access in our room and the staff were all extremely helpful. As we only had 2 weeks in Vietnam, they helped us to plan a tailor-made trip, booking trains, flights and hotels all in our budget range. Not only that, since my suitcase had been 'lost' en route, one of the staff went out of his way to take me to the 'clothes' street in Hanoi to buy a few basics. We used Asia Star Hotel as a base each time we returned to Hanoi and the staff were always kind and friendly. The best hotel in the world! And good value. Thanks to everyone at Asia Star.

The hotel is small, I think most...
The hotel is small, I think most in the area are. The room was nice and modern. Nice and clean...and most importantly in Hanoi...quiet!! It is out a bit from the lake area, 10 min walk approx'.
The staff are friendly, more so after they had got to know us, they like you to book tours through them which I think is pretty standard. Our tour was great, friendly guide, we only had time for a one day Halong Bay trip, would take 2 or 3 days if I could do it again. On our last day our waiter went off on a motorbike to get breadrolls for us to take home, he offered as he could get the local price, (ie wouldn't be cheated) and the reception man insisted on getting bottle water for us too. very friendly and accomodating. I'm not sure about it being a family place just because I don't know that I would take my kids to Hanoi as it is so hectic. we loved it tho and would stay there again. Breakfast pretty basic but fresh and tasty. (local food)

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights! staff was very kind and helpful. They will got out of there way to make sure youre stay in Hanoi is a memorable one. The hotel manager Roger was very helpful and arranged everything from hotel and airline reservations to my next destination to tours in Hanoi and just going to the store on the back of his motor bike. Will stay here again......
I would have to say the item...
I would have to say the item that to me is most outstanding about this hotel is the service level. It is a very small hotel and the staff are very hands on.
The manager waited until I had arrived to make sure everything was ok (I arrived at 11:30pm!).
Another time, I wanted to buy some insect repellent, the manager actually walked me down the block to the pharmacist to make sure I was buying the correct item.
The location of this hotel is excellent, with just a 1-2 minute walk and you are in the old quarter with all of its restaurants etc.
The one downside I would say to this hotel, is that even though they have quite high quality windows that do cut down on the noise (i have built houses before so I can judge this well), there is still some street noise. I however do not know of any hotel in this price range (near this location) that would not allow street noise into your room in Hanoi.
This hotel offered me an airport pickup, I did not take it, but in hind site I would, as the price of the airport pickup is the same as the flat rate taxis from the airport, and many of these taxis do not seem to know the smaller hotels in the city that well.
I stayed at this hotel again after doing a 3 day tour to halong bay, leaving my luggage with them (for free) without any problems.
In this price range, i found the hotel excellent value for the money. Note also, that though asiarooms says breakfast is not included for the single room, mine was included.
