Would stay again!!!
We landed in Hanoi airport and took advantage of their offer for an airport transfer (recommended if you cannot read or speak Vietnamese). When we finally arrived to the guesthouse we were greeted by very friendly and helpful staff. We were shown our room and immediately fell in love with the place due to all the efforts they went to ensure that they met the criteria above with flying colours. We had other plans for another night but booked another night with Hanoi guesthouse upon our return. We experienced both a balcony and non-balcony room and whilst both had their advantages, the main advantage of not having a balcony was that it gave you an extra layer or two of concrete walls to insulate you from the traffic sounds of Hanoi (if you value sleep...). Highly recommended and for the price - you'd have to be a complete imbecile to be expecting anything beyond what they offer.

The best hostel to date
I have traveled as a single female for the past 14 years and never ever have I stayed in such a wonderful hostel.It was cosy,clean and real value for money.The staff were freindly, polite and knowledgeable about Hanoi so they advised us well. It is hard to articulate just how special they made my stay. Miss Chau did everything and more from making me feel comfortable after arriving a day late due to flight delays, to arranging my entire Vietnam trip, airline tickets, tour tickets including getting me a Visa for Cambodia within 24hrs.They are unbelievable.I have never seen such 5 star service in a hostel before.If you do not book this hostel, you are probably getting ripped off and I promise you that you will never find such service anywhere else. It's the best by far. I would highly highly reccommend it.

For around $20 US a night, this place is great.
The service is fantastic and the staff were more than happy to arrange tours and open bus tickets at competitive rates.
- WiFi is included if you carry a Laptop, but the network is unsecured, so be sure to use Firewall software. Two desktop computers are available for free Internet in the Foyer.
- Breakfast is a simple affair of toast with jam, or a traditional noodle dish with coffee or tea. The great thing is that it's included in the price, but expect to sit in the rather small foyer to have it. This can be good, as it gives an opportunity to chat to other guests about their experiences in Vietnam.
- Rooms are clean and tidy. The bathroom is clean, but typical of the Asian style, where there is often no actual shower stall, so things get a little wet as water splashes around the bathroom.
Overall, the minor quirks of this hotel can easily be overlooked for the excellent service quality on offer and more than reasonable bang for your buck. 5 stars.

The staffs there is very friendly and helpful.
They are very patiently explain every questions that we have as this is our 1st time in Hanoi. Clean and comfortable rooms. Even though they don't have lift but still I saw an old lady who stays there that have some difficulty in walking. The staffs is very caring and helpful towards the old lady who is lone traveler.

We really enjoyed our stay! Unlike other guesthouses where we don't alway feel fully relaxed in someone elses home this was a refreshing change. It's small place but had everything we need TV, Iron, Airconditioner, Fan, Hairdryer, Regrigerator, Safe, Ensuite bathroom. The sheet and towels were clean and changed everyday. We were very lucky with the weather, it was lovely to visit area and enjoyed our great trip in Halong Bay organised by Guesthouse. We will not stay anywhere else when we come back Hanoi and it's highly recommended to you!

The best experienced on our a week trip in Vietnam. Hanoi Guesthouse was recommended to us by our brother who did enjoy his stay. This was the best value! The hotel staff provided us with a tourist map and recommended a few places to go and restaurants to eat at. The recommendations were all spot on. Our room's very clean and comfortable with breakfast included in the room rate, was small but very tasty. The location is great a few minutes walk from everything. Everybody made us feel very safe and look after.
