This is a family operated hotel with friendly and very helpful service. There is no official money changer in Hanoi, so you can change it here with a good rate. If you are not a fuzzy traveller, this is a good choice of stay. At the centre of the old quarter. You can book all your ground trip out of Hanoi with the boss on arrival with peace of mind. The toilet door knob in room 201 need a change, otherwise no negative comment. Highly recommended for small group of friends or backpackers.

The most resonable price for the best service
The hotels'location is the best,From here you can walk to everywhere in heart of hanoi old quarter,It get only few block to get to Hoan Kim lake,Dong Xuan market and many Vietnam traditional restaurant,banks,ATM...It so convinient for us to travel,Stuff is very friendly and helpful They booked for us some tour like halong Bay,Sapa,Train to Hue...with exellent rate and service,The hotel facilities met our demand with hot water,TV,AC,Wifi..We really have what we pay for, with 18 USD we have exellent room with a good view,If you find something with real Vietnam a home away from home with standard facilities,a good place to book trip you should stay here,If you need something more luxury find other place.

Very pleasant stay in Hanoi
Very good service, sincere and helpful staff. The single bedroom I slept in was worth more than one star. Clean, good bathroom, tv and bed. Hotel also helps you to book tours around Hanoi for a good price, better than travel agencies. The guest is king, the hotel carries it's name with proudness.

room not worth the money
the room i got for 14USD was not worth the money. the interior was clean, but beat up, and the room had no windows. also there was a minor stench. the staff was friendly and nice though the next day i found another hotel for 18USD and it was much better. Advisor Hotel isn't horrible but just not worth 14USD if you can have something significantly better for 18 or 20 USD.

amazing, memorable trip
I have no regrets in staying Hanoi Advisor Hotel because the staffs are so friendly and helpful. I stayed there for 4 nights. The room was clean and comfortable, which is value for money. The best part was they offered the best price for day trips eg halong bay and Tam Coc. I will be looking forward to stay in this hotel again if I have the chance to re- visit hanoi again. Good job, Sinh.

Not what it seems
The photos of the Hotel need to be updated, they looked like they had been taken years before when the Hotel was first up and running. The towels were hand towels not bath towels. You had to practically sit on the toilet to have a shower, the bathroom was that small. No hot water. No heating. Gaps in the windows and under the doors. The rail on the stairs was unsafe. No sleep in the rooms with a balcony, too noisy. I would say you really get what you pay for here. This accommodation is more for a backpacker type holiday or someone looking for cheap accommodation, it is not suitable for any of the answers below. We booked it from the look of the photos.

All about the service
This place is your standard $20 or so hotel in the old quarter-rooms are basic but comfortable. The superior room has a perfectly adequate ensuite, a tv with cable and the bed is nice. The thing that sets this place apart though is the service. They organize all the tours you could ever want to go on, at competitive rates and in our case, market-leading rates and they take care of it all. Sen, the manager is incredibly sincere and proactive in his service as a city guide/travel agent/hotel manager. After returning from a beautiful 2 day cruise in Ha Long bay at 5pm, we were due to leave for Sapa on a night train at 8 that night. Sen arranged for us to be given a room to shower and repack day bags for our trip in our 3 hour lay over. He also kept our luggage safe n sound for us there. The type of guy u never forget. Stay at advisor just to meet this fantastic bloke.

Adivsor Hotel - Fantastic
I was traveling with a friend so we had the cheapest rooms available. The rooms are basic and no frills but cheap and clean. There might be hot water! The Air port pickup ( booked via the hotel)worked fine even though our flight was three hours late.
The best thing about this hotel is the location. It is situated a few streets away from the main old town/backpackers haunt. Its a fantastic location from which to walk the old town, visit the lake or Uncle Ho etc.
The staff are friendly and speak very good english. We booked onward travel to Vinh via the hotel with no problems. The staff are willing to help you with onward travel but there is no hard sell here.
If your looking for a cheap, basic and clean hotel in a fantastic location.... go for this hotel. If you like things a little more luxurious look elsewhere........
