Staff were really extraordinarily helpful and courteous throughout the stay. The hotel was only recently opened, so there was a conscious effort being made to set high standards.
The room was very comfortable, well equipped, and very clean. We were offered a complimentary upgrade on arrival, and also received a turndown service each evening: something I wouldn't expect at a hotel in this price range.
The hotel does have free internet.
It is not wheelchair accessible.

we stayed here for only 1 night.
although one of the more expensive hotels we stayed in during our trip to Vietnam, it was worth the extra money. the room was spotless, the only negative thing that comes into my mind is that we had booked via asiarooms.com, and breakfast was included for the 3 of us. When we checked in, we had to pay an extra 5 usd for a meal for our daughter.
Good Value and Friendly Staff.
Front Desk Staff spoke enough English to communicate with customers but not fluent to the point that they always understood the conversations. All the staff was friendly and did their best to be helpful and provide good service. The location was excellent. The rooms were most adequate and very clean but they were not spacious if that is what you need. As for myself, space was not a problem. The bathroom was very nice but lighting was very inadequate in the bathroom. Overall I would stay at the hotel again. They always arranged for taxis that were honest with meters. Many taxi drivers take advantage and cheat their client, especially in Hanoi.
Great Hotel just off the lake
I can't understand the last couple of poor reviews. I stayed at the happy hotel for 6 nights while in Hanoi and thought the hotel to be one of the best I've visited. The staff are really friendly, the manager helpful and the bellboys very pleasant and can't do enough to help.
This hotel is a sheep in wolf's clothing. it is rated as a 3 star but short of building a swimming pool on the neighbours roof it should be looking to pick up at least one more. The room was bright, clean and all the facilities were in new condition.
The hotel responded to my booking within minutes of it being made and assisted in booking train tickets for Sa Pa (at cost, not inflated prices).
This is a real gem of a hotel and I’ll be back and will recommend to my friends. I was in room 702 which was top floor overlooking the street.
Special not to guests - you get what you pay for, if your too tight with your budget, you will have a smaller room that possibly does not have a outlook. This can happen in any hotel in a large city. Maybe these people need to get out a bit more - see the real world.
To recap - I loved it and will be back.

“I thought this hotel was fantastic! Although we stayed at this hotel one night but It was probably the best sleep we got on our entire a week trip, the bed was so comfortable and great pillows.The room was quite commodious and fit the large bed, had everything we needed and a very clean bathroom.The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful with booking us transfers to the airport or telling us good places to eat. The breakfast was fantastic, especially local food. My husband and i were very pleased with my stay at this hotel”

This is probably one of the best hotels in Hanoi. The Superior River View Room are very nice . Location is quite good, with the old quarter in walking distance (just 3 minutes to the center ).

“Great Location, Great Services, Very Very Friendly & Helpful staff”
I had a marvellous stay at Hanoi Happy Hotel! I chose it because of its location and for the fact that it's a very new hotel.
The staff were exceedingly friendly and helpful. From receptionists to chambermaids, all my requests were attended to immediately. The lovely young lady who served us breakfast was so nice and acceded to our very complicated breakfast orders! The rest of the staff were all smiles, all the time. They showed initiative when I expressed my interest in going for day tours and took time to sit and discuss the perfect tours for me and my boyfriend. The staff at this hotel are superb! Thank you all!!!
The hotel is also literally a minute's walk from the hotel so the location is unbeatable for the price you're paying.
The rooms are tastefully decorated, fresh fruit was served everyday, the bathroom had one of those awesome rain shower things which I absolutely love, and the view from my room (803) was tremendous!
Will definitely return!
The Best Hotels In Hanoi Old Quarter
This is probably one of the best hotels in Hanoi Old Quarter. Décor of all rooms are very nice.Excellent hotel, reasonable rates, nice clean rooms, great service. All the staff were very friendly and helpful . Wonderful place to stay. I recommend this hotel wholeheartedly
