Questionable Indochina
"Not as excellent as previous reviews seem to indicate. The simple service of 'wake-up call' cannot be relied on. We scheduled a wake-up call and did not receive it. An hour after the due time, we descended to the lobby and found the bell-boy sleeping on the floor over couch cushions and the concierge sleeping inside the main office. We received no discount or compensation for this negligence and actually had to deal with the concierge's early morning bad mood (6:30 AM). Other basic hotel services like re-supplying the mini-bar and fixing the hot shower were also initially neglected and only attended to after repeated requests.
The staff is generally nice, but a bit too artificially nice and tries to push the hotel tourism packages and extra services too hard (you can find better deals in travel agencies outside the hotel - including shuttle service to and from the airport for 65% their rate).
The rooms do not all look like the pictures displayed online, they are smaller. However, they are indeed clean, have good quality mattresses and my room in particular had a laptop where I could access the internet from. The hotel location is good but you can find millions of other hotels with equivalent or better locations. Breakfast is disappointing. Poor variety of fruits and cereal, no yogurt or cheese, only plain white sliced bread and some other unattractive deep-fried dishes."
